Well told tale

Well read, a well-told story of a segment of life in a family's history, from the POV of the dog. If you know dogs well this bok will definitely annoy you in places - requires enormous suspension of disbelief throughout. But once you get past that, it's an exceptionally told tale.

Written So Well - And Such A Great Story!

Where does The Art of Racing in the Rain rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is my favorite narrative audio book I've listened to so far. The performance is really well done, and the story is so captivating. Telling the story from the dog's perspective is makes for a really great and entertaining story.

A dogs view

A very fun story, centering around the life of a hsuband and wife with interesting sub-stories including a heart breaking episode, written from the view of a pet dog. The pet is owned by a man who becomes a car racer, the dog learns the details of racing telling of specific race tracks and exciting things about each track. This book is not just a chick book, I am sure men who have anything to do with racing will enjoy this book!

Need a good cry?

I turned this on and before I hit the 10-minute mark, had to turn it off again because I was sobbing...and about to walk my dog. I figured the people on the road would prefer if I wasn't hysterical. It's a sweet story that takes a slightly improbably turn, but if you love dogs you'll love this book.

The Art of Racing in the Rain

This absolutely wonderful Audio Book was recommended to me by my Daughter! At first I was reluctant to listen to it because I thought it might be sad! I recently lost a Senior Dog and still have one very old Dog left. This Book was written from the Dogs point of view as if he were narating it! I could not stop listining! I took my Kindle Fire all over my home with me all Day ,and I want to listen to it again! It is fasinating! 😌💗💕

Cutting Onions

Excellent story and performance. Unfortunately at the end I seemed to think it was a good idea to cut a few onions for the last chapter and my eyes kept getting wet. Stupid onions.

Powerful story, excellent narrator

I'm always a little afraid to invest my time and emotions into a book about animals. I poke at them a bit first to make sure they aren't going to break my heart. Maybe it was because I was forced to read Old Yeller and The Little Red Pony in school.

So, I bought this book because of the reviews and then avoided listening to it for a while by buying other books.

But, this story is wonderful . . . beautiful . . . word crafting genius . . .

The story evokes laughter, and reflection on some very interesting observations woven into the tale, and at times sadness. Surprisingly, the auto racing bits in the story were interesting and even exciting and I learned a lot.

I want to encourage people I know to experience this book too so we can share something special in common. But, they aren't book people, so . . . here you go mysterious fellow audio book lover . . . :)
