Too good, too real

Terribly well performed though the vocal register was a bit sad. I found it so emotionally moving i couldn't actually get much past the first hour, i was afraid of what might happen in the book and how much it might upset me. So though i know it's an excellent book i just didn't finish it.

Changed my view on life

I started by reading this book and after I finished, I bought the audible because I needed to listen to it all the time. I leave it on for my dog when she stays home alone. I've always talked to my pets as humans and after reading this, I now read out loud to my dog all the time. If you love dogs you will listen to this book over and over and over and it will never grow old. Thank you Mr. Stein for this beautiful book.

AWESOME story made better by the performance!

I left my house at 8am yesterday, moving to a new city. I started this book when I hit the road, and just finished it. The story had me crying (multiple times), feeling anger, and gladness. SUCH an engaging tale. Highly recommended!

Excellent

The story was really well crafted. It has a very interesting twist at the end. I’m a sucker for a book with a dog as one of the main characters. The narration by Mr. Welch is one of best narrators that I have heard.

Great book, entertaining, validating, good lessons

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this story. There were times I laughed out loud, and times when I cried pretty hard. Life as seen through this dog's eyes was simplified and loving. The spiritual messages were woven into the story line. Lots of positive moral lessons prevailed. It made human behavior look down right pitiful at times. The narrator did a good job of conveying the characters thoughts and feelings. Overall great experience.

In the mind of the Dog!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

What a great take on getting inside the mind of the dog! I just love the creativity and I constantly compare the thoughts from the book to my dog!

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character is the Dog of course...

Have you listened to any of Christopher Evan Welch’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Never listened to a Welch performance.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh a lot and of course it made me cry a little as well!

Great

Really loved this book. Did not feel any lag time, myself thinking "when is this story going to ' get with it'". Had me interested from the start then like real life took me with the story line just as though it was twists and turns in my life. There were so memofable moments, Eve being hurt and then passing, her family keeping hjm from the funeral. Enzo's journey with his pain , and then the judge dismissing the case and then off to Italy with his daughter to start a new life. In love with Enzo even today.

Get rid of the music

This was a riveting story, well told, well read, and excellently written. Intermittent music was completely unnecessary and distracting at times. Otherwise this is a great book about a father's love.
