Publisher's summary

Ever since an accident turned her into a knockout vamp, Elvi Black's been catching her z's in a coffin, staying out of the sun, and giving up garlic. She knows there's more to being undead than what she saw in Dracula, but she can't very well ask her mortal friends about proper biting etiquette.

But when her neighbors placed a personal ad for her in the local paper, she never imagined she'd meet Victor Argeneau, a vampire who could have his pick of any woman - dead or alive. Rich, powerful, and drop-dead gorgeous, Victor's the perfect man for a novice neck-biter like Elvi. He's willing to teach her everything he knows, but he'll have to do it fast. Someone's out to put a stake through her new vamp life, and only Victor can keep her safe - and satisfied - for all eternity.

Love in vein: listen to more tales of the Argeneau Vampires.

Sands knows her humorous Vamps!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Accidental Vampire to be better than the print version?

I love Lynsay Sands Argeneau series - this is one of my favorites. Another one is the Single White Vampire - OMG - I laughed so hard while listening to both of these I cried.

Who was your favorite character and why?

ELVI was my favorite - her character was so serious about the vampire role and she took the truth with a grain of salt - you can't but help fall in love.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Not your typical vampire saga.

My favorite of the series

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. Because it makes me laugh! I can imagine reacting to some of the things that happen to Elvie in the exact same way.

What other book might you compare The Accidental Vampire to and why?

"Agnes and the Hitman" by Jennifer Crusie and Bob Mayer, because both main characters get themselves into such interesting situations.

Which character – as performed by Victoria McGee – was your favorite?

Elvie

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes.

Great story wish the narrator knew that.

I have never heard a more bored narrator in my life. Even the excited scenes she was monotone. She did kind of OK with the different accents and male voices but that was it.

Needs new narration!!!

I enjoy this series so much that I have read it multiple times. I decided to listen to this book while cleaning the house and had quite a few cringe moments due to the narrator. She would be great as a GPS voice but needs to steer clear (pun intended) from reading novels. I really wish they would find one good narrator and stick with them 😒 or at the very least…listen to it during editing! Seriously don’t they realize that better narration means more money? The only reason I gave the performance 2 stars is due to having heard worse. I can’t in good conscious recommend this audible but definitely read this series.

Worst narrator ever!!!!

Please never use this narrator again!!! Listening to her grates on my nerves!!! She has now ruined two books of Lynsay Sands.

Why why why? Use the Narrator!

Can’t understand why they would have such a horrible narrator reading this book? I couldn’t seem to even get into it from the beginning which is sad since I know the book is good. Who approves these people?? It was so annoying. Like one other review said almost robotic. Worst ever! Ruined the whole experience.

Narration is NOT GOOD

Im invested in the Argeneau stories. but three of the books so far were almost painful to get thru with the robotic narration.

Not my favorite

I’m a fan of the series but this book just didn’t do it for me. I found myself not all that eager to listen. I found the Elvie and Mabel characters utterly ridiculous and not in the cute way. I found myself more often than not asking why anyone would be interested in such empty headed and stupid people. Like really dumb in the way I’m concerned you are intelligent enough to make appropriate decisions. I desperately hope this isn’t the direction all off the FMC are going to go.

Last Chapter missing

I enjoy all of Lynsay Sands books. They make me laugh. However I can not recommend this one because the last chapter is missing. Victor was just about to talk with his brother, the head of the Vampire Council when it ended. I have notified audible.com and hopefully they will be able to find the missing chapter and add it to Part 2.
