In a swirling universe filled with death and life, corruption and innocence, this story takes us on a wondrous journey back through the centuries to a civilization half human, half of wholly mysterious origin, at odds with mortality and immortality, justice and guilt.

I wish that I would have remembered that the book was abridged. It was a good refresher of the story, but would not worth it if I didn't know the story.
I love the reader, but this is not a stand alone novel. Either the whole novel or the editing job for the abridge left me feeling like I was missing a great deal of what was going on, and prevented me from caring about the characters at all.
If you're a fan of Anne Rice, this story will not disappoint. Interesting characters, story and Anne always finds a way to leave you a little turned on:) Her formula works!
There is a second narrator I wasn't expecting and the transition back and forth is a little jolting. I read Taltos in the past so I purchased this primarily because Tim Curry was narrating. I wish it was unabridged...I have the advantage of already knowing the story and still had a hard time following the abridged version. I don't know if it would make sense at all to someone unfamiliar with the story.
This whole story line is not good for abridged version. You miss too much of what makes this trilogy so wonderful and horrifying. You miss the soul of story line. Audible, get the unabridged version up.
The storyline The origin of Taltos
Tim Curry's performance for this story was outstanding.I have always liked his work as an actor.
No,but I'd enjoy hearing more
This was not a comedic story, nor a sad one per se.But I did have a tension build up that wouldn't let me stop reading until it was finished.
Loved it> I want more!
Started this series several years ago... Recently picked up Lasher and finished it. Wanted to find out what happens in the end and switched to audio because I just knew I wouldn't have the time to sit and read. Good story
