Publisher's summary

"We're about to cross the point of no return. God help us; we're flying in the dark, and we don't know where the hell we're going."

Facing down an unprecedented malevolent enemy, the government responds with a nuclear attack. America as it was is gone forever, and now every citizen - from the president of the United States to the homeless on the streets of New York City - will fight for survival.

Swan Song is Robert McCammon's prescient and shocking vision of a post-apocalyptic nation, a grand epic of terror and, ultimately, renewal.

In a wasteland born of rage and fear, populated by monstrous creatures and marauding armies, earth's last survivors have been drawn into the final battle between good and evil, that will decide the fate of humanity. They include Sister, who discovers a strange and transformative glass artifact in the destroyed Manhattan streets... Joshua Hutchins, the pro wrestler who takes refuge from the nuclear fallout at a Nebraska gas station... and Swan, a young girl possessing special powers, who travels alongside Josh to a Missouri town where healing and recovery can begin with Swan's gifts. But the ancient force behind earth's devastation is scouring the walking wounded for recruits for its relentless army, beginning with Swan herself.

I love this book!

I first read this book shortly after graduating and I couldn't put it down. Finding it on audible was even better than reading it. The narration is outstanding, bringing the characters to life more than I thought possible. I have to admit that for a couple of nights, after setting the sleep timer I would just press play on my ear buds and end up listening until 2 am. Not something I recommend if you have to be alert early in the morning, but it was too hard to stop listening. You will not be disappointed with this book.

Fantastic and addicting!

Just loved this fantastic story of survival and the enduring spirit of man kind. The narrator did a fantastic job. I wish there was a second book!

Very Enjoyable

I usually only listen to books while at work, but this book actually made me come up with things to do with headphones on just so I could listen some more. This was my first Robert McCammon book and now I plan to listen to them all. Swan Song actually reminds me of Stephen Kings The Stand, and that's a good thing right? The forces of good coming together to battle evil in the post apocalypse world. Its got everything, characters you love, characters you love to hate, just a good read.

Great book!

What did you love best about Swan Song?

Great characters. Loved them more at each development of the story. It was believable and honest. I especially liked the way the book introduced the characters and showed their journey so completely.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Swan Song?

Loved when the Colonel was in trouble and the little guy saves him. Great turn to the "evil side"!

Which scene was your favorite?

Just the scenes of all the different characters and what they go through during the initial nuclear holocost was great. Every one had different circumstances and you find yourself either cheering them on or hoping something very bad happens to stop them. Depending on the character.

If you could take any character from Swan Song out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Oh, Swan - most definately. I have some plants that need tending. LOL

Swan's Song

Long but good story. Enjoyed the narrating and storyline. I recommend it as a good long novel.

I love this book!

I would definitely recommend this book, I love the whole concept & the way it is written. I "read" this book 2-3 times before the audio version came out. So far I've only listened to it once, but I haven't owned it for that long!

Entertaining look at end times.

What did you love best about Swan Song?

The very first part was entertaining but as the book went further it went downhill. The story became the same as all the other end of the world books.
