Publisher's summary

"We're about to cross the point of no return. God help us; we're flying in the dark, and we don't know where the hell we're going."

Facing down an unprecedented malevolent enemy, the government responds with a nuclear attack. America as it was is gone forever, and now every citizen - from the president of the United States to the homeless on the streets of New York City - will fight for survival.

Swan Song is Robert McCammon's prescient and shocking vision of a post-apocalyptic nation, a grand epic of terror and, ultimately, renewal.

In a wasteland born of rage and fear, populated by monstrous creatures and marauding armies, earth's last survivors have been drawn into the final battle between good and evil, that will decide the fate of humanity. They include Sister, who discovers a strange and transformative glass artifact in the destroyed Manhattan streets... Joshua Hutchins, the pro wrestler who takes refuge from the nuclear fallout at a Nebraska gas station... and Swan, a young girl possessing special powers, who travels alongside Josh to a Missouri town where healing and recovery can begin with Swan's gifts. But the ancient force behind earth's devastation is scouring the walking wounded for recruits for its relentless army, beginning with Swan herself.

One of my favorites

I read this book for the first time a few years ago and I fell in love with it . Now after listening to it , I love it even more . The narrator brought this beautiful story of destruction ,redemption and the human condition to life . Can’t wait to listen to it again in a few months .
Thank you Mr. McCammon!!!

Treat yourself!

This is a story I have loved and re-visited on occasion since it came out in 1987. It’s a rough ride that makes one believe in the possibility of the greater good even within the most horrific of circumstances. It holds up over time. This is hands down the best narration I have enjoyed on Audible.

Post apocalyptic perfection

This book is one of the best compelling apocalypse stories I’ve read in a long long time. If you enjoy The Stand read this novel and follow Swan, Joshua and Sister on their incredible journey.

an Epic.

A good and interesting looooong story. It needs to be abridged, but it's still good. Stick with it.

Post Apocalyptic Must Read

I am not really sure where to start with this book. I would like to say the narrator is fantastic, he really makes the story and the characters come to life.
I feel this is more of a story driven book rather than a character driven one. Not any complaints with that, it is more based on what happens. It is a good vs evil battle!
One of my favorite books is The Stand, but I believe Swan Song has made it hard to choose between the two.

I don’t care what they did but it. Thanks, we need the story today.

So many years, after it’s been written, we need the story today more than ever. It’s important, but it’s also fun.
