This diary is a love letter written by a new mother named Suzanne for her baby son, Nicholas. As Katie reads this touching document, it becomes clear that the lover who has just left her is the husband and father in this young family. She reads on, filled with terror and hope, as she struggles to understand what has happened - and whether her new love has a prayer of surviving.

Knowledge is knowing the way. Wisdom is looking for an alternative, more interesting road to get there. Audiobooks are that road.
I usually prefer books with a little more length and meat to them. This was a good book to listen to in between the more intense heavier books. Short, good story, good narration. I would definately put this in the category of chick-lit. It is not your typical Patterson book. It's far more like a Harlequin Romance. It probably would have made a good "made for T.V. movie". Not a waste of time, but not a book you'll think about for too long after it's over.
I have read several of James Patterson's other books. I love him as an author. When I read "Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas" I couldn't even believe that it was a Patterson book! How could such a gruesome, murder mystery type auther write such a compasssionate, feeling, extraordinarily nice book. But the style is still his. He still works in his wonderful plot twists! Kudos James, what an awesome author!
I saw the title and thought, "C'mon!" But I was surprised. This is well written tale, that will keep you interested until the end. Well worth the time. Heart-renching at times, but a great listen.
This is one of the most touching books I have read in a while. As so many others have written, I too, did not want this one to end. I felt the love, the pain and all the possible emotions throughout this book and although I didn't shed a tear, I was so choked up at times that I really struggled to keep running (I listen to my books whilst running and let me warn others, its not good to choke up when running!!)
If you have any doubt about whether to purchase this one and you enjoy an emotional story then dont wait a moment longer.
The reader of this book does a fantastic job also and has a very listenable voice.
Thoroughly enjoyed and will no doubt listen to this one again in the future.
I enjoy reading mysteries and detective novels. James Patterson is one of my favorite authors and I have read several of his books. As I began to listen to Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas my first impression was, "what is a mystery writer doing writing a "girly" book?" But as I listened I was struck by his ability to write with simplicity, fluidity, and a deep heartfelt sincerity as he wrote a mother?s heart for her precious child. He wrote with a depth of love and with a fullness of life that I could only wish I had been able to communicate to my kids when they were young. I have not been so moved emotionally since I read Tilly by Peretti. I picked up Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas thinking it was another detective story. It wasn't! Isn't it lucky!
Although this book was predictable, I enjoyed it. I downloaded this book for a long drive I had, the book made the time fly. I laughed, smiled and cried! I didn't want the book to end and wanted the story to be carried further.
Any one would die to have a Matt like this Matt - you love Suzanne, you Love Katie, the mark of a great storyteller is that they suck you in and make you emotionally invested in the characters. While I like Sam's Letters to Jennifer more...this book still rocks, is highly worth the listen - my only critique is - too short, ending is too abrupt, I could listen a lot longer - but I love my HEA's and I got it - so Hooray James, looking forward to the next one!
I'm a Nana to 5 beautiful grandchildren and a great-Nana to 2 lively and lovely little joys. I love to read, write, be outdoors -- especially near the water --, enjoy crafting, painting and photography. James Patterson, Harold Robbins, John Grisham, and Mitch Albom are a few of my favorite authors.
The story told by the book is excellent, but then again we are talking about one of James Patterson's works. The narration needed to be improved.
A few of the Alex Cross series, by Patterson, and narrated by Andre Braugher. His voice fits the character perfectly.
Probably not, but it would depend on the book. If its a book I really want to hear and she is the only one narrating, then I guess I would give it a shot.
A touching story of love found, love lost and love beginning.
I wished I realized it was a movie I had seen.....that kind of ruined the book for me.
It tied things up, didn't leave me wanting to know more or have sequel potential.
I believe it was, Christine Applegate was Suzanne. I think it was on LMN.
"Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas"
I found this book a refreshing change for James patterson fans
It takes you on a journey actually two journey's into the lives of two intelligent women who both love the same man. It encapsulates Pattersons talent to enter the minds of his characters so that they jump to life on each page. Excellent easy reading!
"Story with no story!"
I downloaded this on the strength of it's reviews both on here and Amazon. I always wonder about reviews when I see one negative one amongst a lot of positive. I ask myself whether I will agree with the one person! In this case I did! This was totally predictable with no real plot. The voice got on my nerves too! I found myself drifting away as it didn't catch my interest at all. On one occasion I actually fell asleep! I worked out the end right at the beginning and don't quite know why I carried on listening. I think he should stick to crime!
