Before it was adapted into a Netflix show, Virgin River was a series of more than 20 novels by New York Times best-selling author Robyn Carr. The audiobooks, all read by Audie Award-winning narrator Thérèse Plummer, are well-loved by a wide audience. The series takes place in Virgin River and revolves around new resident Melinda Monroe, a nurse practitioner and midwife. There's more to this sleepy town than first appearances suggest.

Never fails to satisfy me

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, the storyline and the narrator brings this story to life. You laugh at times, cry at times and wish there was a Virgin River. I love each sequel that brings me up to date with the characters I grown to love.

What other book might you compare Sunrise Point to and why?

There isn't another book that compares to this story. There are other series I love but they are all quite different, but I love them all the same.

Which character – as performed by Therese Plummer – was your favorite?

Nora was my favorite in this book, whatever problem she faces, she goes forward. I love that she met her father and remember why he left.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Virgin river a place that you would love to call home.

Any additional comments?

Virgin river is a place you'll wish you were able to live forever. I like that most of the characters work together to overcome a problem either collectively or as individuals.

Sorry to see this series end

I listened to all 17 Virgin River books. I know they are predictable stories, but they are fun to listen too. Just enough romance, a little excitement here and there and a few laughs.
These are lightweights and easy to listen too. Sometimes that's just what I need. This story with Nora and Tom's beginning their relationship in Tom's Apple Orchard is really a good story. Lots of romance and laughs. Robyn Carr's Thunder Point series was just as good as this one and now onto Grace Valley. I think I'll miss Therese Plummer's narration most when I finish all of Robyn's books. She is fantastic.

Good read

I enjoyed the story of Nora and Tom. The side story of Coop I couldn't figure out the point . I feel there was no reason for Coop to be a part if the book.. I though Nora and Coop would cross paths or something? Coop's ending left you looking for more?

Sweet, fiesty, stubborn, delightful

And that was just the heroine. With two precious daughters and an abusive ex she has reason to be cautious, add to that the abuse at the hands of her Mother and it's no wonder she prefers her own company with the safe friendships of her elderly neighbours.
if not for the empathy of the hero's grandmother and her "interference" there the story would have ended.
I have chuckled and felt sadness, along with many other emotions as this book progressed, the signs of a great author and good book.

I love the people ….

I am always hoping for a continuing story. Oh, we get little snippets in the following books in the series, and that’s nice. But I mean books. I’m listening to the whole series before the tv show returns. I only have two left this time around.

Mood Enhancing Series

I enjoy this Virgin River series when I want light reading (listening) with a feel-good ending. This book is a good addition to a light series about normal men and women with everyday lives and problems -- there are no super powers, no world-shattering conspiracies, no extreme technology or special effects. These are stories about people I can relate to and understand.

Although I'm usually a stickler for reading a series in order, this book can stand alone. Other characers from around Virgin River are included, but this story does not rely on their histories. However, if you're interested in Reverend Kincaid and Ellie, you can go back to read Forbidden Falls, or if you want to find out more about Jack and Melinda, you can go back to the first Virgin River book (very humerous and touching). The Riordan brothers have their own books in Moonlight Road and Wild Man Creek. As for the narration, Therese Plummer's performance of Robyn Carr's books will alway improve my mood!

Great Series!

I have totally enjoyed this series. It was nice to follow all the characters through these books. I do suggest you start with the first in the series and follow it through in order. Each story introduces you to a new part of the town and you follow many of the characters and get updates through each book and you learn the story of new characters. This is really a great series and the narrator is really one of the best. I totally recommend this series from start to finish.

Love the characters in Virgin River

Therese Plummer always does an excellent narration of Robyn Carr books. I have listened to every book in the series and loved each one for different reasons. This book was interesting because another woman was involved so I found myself cheering for Nora.

Another hit

Every story in this series is wonderful and Therese Plummer is a
fantastic narrator. The new character Introduced in this story
is the main character in the next series which is also
wonderful.
I would have liked to know more about Drew and Sunny, what happened with them, did the stay together, etc. T his is one of my
Favorite series. Thank you.
