Polly has always been the high-flier of the family, with the glamorous lifestyle to match.… Clare is a single mum with two children, struggling to make ends meet in a ramshackle cottage. The two sisters are poles apart and barely on speaking terms.
But then Polly’s fortunes change unexpectedly. Left penniless and with nowhere else to go, she’s forced back to the village where she and Clare grew up, and the sisters find themselves living together for the first time in years. With an old flame reappearing for Polly, a blossoming new career for Clare and a long-buried family secret in the mix, sparks are sure to fly. Unless the two women have more in common than they first thought?

"Funny and Easy Listening"
This book was a brilliant "listen" it was entertaining and heart felt. The narrator did a brilliant job of keeping is fresh and I wish there was a follow on book as I really enjoyed the two sisters dynamic and wanted to hear more about their future lives. Well written and a must read or "listen"
"a great listen"
Fun inspiring story
The strength of the sisters relationship
Difficult so many favourites
Didn't want the story to end. Felt like I was there with them through thick and thin
"Best Lucy Diamond story!"
This is my favorite of all Lucy Diamond's stories. The characters were brilliant and I found I couldn't stop listening. The narrator brought the story to life and her different accents and voices for the children were exceptional. My fave audible in a long while!
"A brilliant listen !!"
A story were we might find ourselves in at some stage in our lives where we lose touch with the truly important things in life !! Makes you evaluate your own life a bit !
"A nice relaxing read"
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were very realistic and the storyline was good. Depicts how quickly peoples lives can change.
Really like Polly and how her character developed
There was no one scene which stood out the most
Probably the one scene that moved me the most was when Polly went to the garden of remembrance
Very well read. Good believable characters.
"Not as cleaver as you may think"
Yes I will listen again. There are always new angles and missed snippets to be gleaned from good books..
Sweet Temptation this one is better.
Kate Rawson is an excellent narrator. I have read "Sweet Temptation" this one is better
Not possible I have a life to lead
I found this a good read. However I feel it difficult to believe that such a high flyer coould really be as silly as she some times is.
"Funny, sad, entertaining"
I liked the way the psyche shift of the main character was developed in the unfolding storyline. Story Made me laugh so much in places, although it was sad at the same time, or at least fraught with dysfunctional ways of being. But All is well that ends well. Only negative was the unrealistic Hampshire accents. Sounded more like West Country.
The two sisters are total opposites, but when they are forced to live together for the summer, they both learn important lessons from each other. Polly in particular changed from a very cold, self centered London yuppie to a much nicer person who realised that she had all her priorities wrong. The gradual change in her personality was good to listen to. Clair was the one that I felt sorry for and was pleased with the outcome and her change of circumstances. This author is very good, she gets you to understand the people she is writing about, you can really get into their heads.
When the two sisters finally spoke about their guilt about the death of their brother and came to realise that they weren't to blame after all. It really brought them closer together
It was just a good easy read. Some comical parts, some sad.
I really like the narrator. I disagree with another reviewer who said she should only read children's books. I thought the expression she put into the narration was excellent, her accents were good(not perfect) and she was easy to listen to.
I liked the way the relationship between the sisters developed throughout the story.
An enjoyable listen that was well narrated.
the narration was really good and the story us one that leaves you smiling. the best part was Polly coming to understand what a total ass she had been.
