“The plot twists ingeniously...an engaging, often chilling book.” - The New York Times Book Review

A writer in California. A doctor in Boston. A motel owner and his employee in Nevada. A priest in Chicago. A robber in New York. A little girl in Las Vegas. They’re a handful of people from across the country, living through eerie variations of the same nightmare.

A dark memory is calling out to them. And soon they will be drawn together, deep in the heart of a sprawling desert, where the terrifying truth awaits...

It was okay

A typical Dean Koontz novel. I did struggle a bit to finish. I thought predictable.

Great Book

Very good introduction and development of characters. From about halfway through the story couldn't stop listening.

Well worth it!

The story unfolds chapter by chapter, character by character. Character development and suspense well worth your time. Dick Hill’s ability to give each character their own voice is quite the performance! He’s able to change flawlessly from character to character as he draws you in. I loved it!

Great book!!! Long...but really good

This one another of my favorite Koontz stories. It was a little too long, but still very good. I got lost a few times, went back and caught up quick! I think you will like this book!

The beginning was slow and it took me a while to get hooked but over all a great read

An uplifting story

I first read this book as a teen, and it is what made me a fan of Mr. Koontz. Revisiting this excellent work in audible form, twenty four years later, I find that it’s every bit as great as it was the first time. Mr. Hill is an excellent narrator, and the story is beautiful.

I read the book 30 years ago

I read the book 30 years ago but couldn't remember how it ended and only had a vague idea of what it was about. It was good to have someone read it to me and it was like hearing it for the first time.

I have read all of Dean Koontz books from beginning up through odd number 2 and then got tired of the same feeling and each book would like a continuation of the previous book. when I first discovered Koontz each book I read was spooky and scary. not So Much Anymore and I miss the supernatural evil Goblin type stuff.

A Good Listen

Where does Strangers rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I enjoyed this book, pretty good story line and entertaining.

Any additional comments?

The mystery and momentum throughout the entire story kept me on the edge of my seat while driving. Of course Dick Hill is superb in his narrations as always.

I'll try the kindle book, the narrator kills me

I hate Scott Brick, he ruined many good books for me, and the narrator of Strangers is even worse! I could only listen to the first two chapters before I got a nasty headache. So, if you love Brick, go ahead and if you hate him don't buy this book, buy the Kindle or paper edition. There's so much drama, choking, sighing, whispering in this narration that it almost makes me hate Koontz, my favorite novelist!

One of my favorite Koontz books, not my favorite narrator.

This is one of the first Koontz novels that I read. It is one of his more sci-fi genre with his elaborate ensemble cast of characters. Elements of mystery, self-discovery, and romance are all present and accounted for. While I enjoy most of Koontz's various genres, this is where I enjoy his writing the most.
I was disappointed to see it was narrated by Dick Hill as he is not on my favorite list but wanted to listen to this book and finally took the plunge. The narration is not as bad as I expected, Mr Hill still brings too much of himself into the story, but probably the best work I have heard from him. I particularly object when he adds his sniffs, snorts, and laughter that are not written into the book. That said, I felt that the book itself is strong enough to overcome my annoyance.
