    "Interesting, but..."
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It has lots of interesting factoids and gives a terrific sense of place and time and attitudes of the day, but it sure jumps around a lot.

    Story
    "A Magnificent Mess"
Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would organize its content in some sort of rational order. I would have edited out most of the irrelevant trivia. And I would have eliminated the boring taped interviews with the author at the end.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Most interesting: many interesting nuggets of historical trivia.
Least interesting: many of those nuggets are virtually irrelevant to the main topic.

What does Adrian Cronauer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Nothing more than any other narrator.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Not unless its content was rearranged into some sort of coherent order and heavily edited to retain only the things that are most relevant to the topic.

    Any additional comments?

    No.

    "Author hard to follow."
What would have made Son of the Morning Star better?

The author wanders through the characters and their life history and poorly ties it back to the plot of the story. This made it very difficult to follow. I lost interest quickly.
