Publisher's summary

After her father loses the family fortune in an insider-trading scheme, single mom Parker Welles is faced with some hard decisions. First order of business: go to Gideon's Cove, Maine, to sell the only thing she now owns-a decrepit house in need of some serious flipping. When her father's wingman, James Cahill, asks to go with her, she's not thrilled . . . even if he is fairly gorgeous and knows his way around a toolbox.

Having to fend for herself financially for the first time in her life, Parker signs on as a florist's assistant and starts to find out who she really is. Maybe James isn't the glib lawyer she always thought he was. And maybe the house isn't the only thing that needs a little TLC.

I live the way the author connects the characters from previous books to the current story. Love that!

I liked the story but thought she could have refrained from calling him Thing 1 for a good portion of the book. It seemed so rude. Other than that, good book

Feel good

Storyline as expected, I enjoyed it despite its predictability. The narrator on this book was horrible though. All the men’s voices sounded like pretentious old men. It conflicted with the characters.

Favorite

I really enjoy Kristan Higgins books! This might be my favorite so far! I love how she returned to a former town and wove the characters from two books together so beautifully!! Enjoy!!

Good story, horrible narrator!

I see I’m not the only one who has issues with the narration. It is just awful. She’s trying to do accents and they all sound the same-they all sound like some pretentious old man. She should’ve just used her regular voice and voiced the characters. It really does ruin the story. I had to turn it off a few times because I couldn’t stand it. Other than that, the story was good, good summer read. I hope the narrator finds a new day job. I don’t know who thought she could actually do this for a living.

Irritating narration

Really did not like supporting character voices that this narrator made. They kind of ruined the whole story for me.

Her voice

I could not stay her nasal whiny voice. What happened to Xe. She is great

Best Story of the Series and Worst Narrator!

I enjoyed this final story in the series and would have liked it even better if the narrator hadn't been such a turn-off. What was the purpose of that whiny, scratchy (hard to describe), irritating delivery? I wanted to give up but persevered because I managed to get involved in the story and invested in the characters. I'm glad that I stayed to the end.

Always a good one!

Kristan Higgins has become one of my favorite authors, by far. I find my self laughing and crying in just about all her stories. Her heros are always the best. Her stories are always filled with so much entertainment that I can never put them down. This is no exception. If I was to tell the author anything it would be to have more dialog between the hero and heroine only because its always so good. You won't go wrong with any of Higgins books.
