This is truly wonderful and insightful. Specially if the reader/listener is interested in walking with God and not so interested in fixing systems. Answers excellent questions with direction into God and not into the 'fix'. I found it very good, and have recommended it and given it as gifts. I thank God and the authors for a timely sound.
Wow, don't read this book if you just want to relax and feel good. Don't get me wrong,it is uplifting, but it is tremendously challenging. It helped me see things in a way that was very exciting. It has inspired me to investigate whether or not I am really leading the Christian walk as I was intended to.
I highly recommend this book. The reader, in the audible version puts just the right inflection at the right time.
This is a great book that keeps you glued to it. Definetly throughs some new light on understanding Jesus. Becareful of tradition. If you decide to read this book good luck on your new journey in your Christian walk.
Top of my list.
The main characters personality.
Really gets you thinking about developing a relationship with God.
The story really resonated with me to the depths of my being.
I laughed, I cried, it moved me Bob.
A couple years ago I read a book called "The Shack" and it really made an impression on me but it was only a story, a good one with some truth presented in a new way. A little over a year ago I had the blessing of experiencing a Walk to Emmaus during a very critical time in my life. A couple of months ago, I don't even remember how, I got this book on my radar. With this month's Audible.com credit I purchased the audio book and have listened to the entire book in the past 24-hours. This book has resonated with me at my core and to a level that in all honesty even scares me a little bit, as I am once again wondering - where am I being led?
At the same time I am not holding on to any sort of worry about it. The last 18 months, no the last almost 37 years continues to teach me I don't have to worry about tomorrow, it will get here when it is time and my experience of now is what will prepare me for it when it does.
I HIGHLY recommend this book to all. If you don't want to go to church or even if you do. This book won't give you an answer but it may allow you to see where you might want to make your next step along your journey.
THIS BOOK IS FUN. MAKES ME THINK ON SOME THINGS... AM I DOING WHAT GOD WANTS OR WHAT MAN WANTS. DOES CHURCH EVER BECOME BORING AND IF SO, WHY? THE ANSWERS ARE HERE IN THIS BOOK. LOOK AT SOME OF THE THINGS WE DO AND LAUGH. THIS IS GREAT!
TALKING ABOUT HOW THE PROGRAMS WE HAVE IN CHURCH CAUSE PEOPLE TO SEEM BETTER THAN OTHERS
THE SUNDAY SCHOOL
Yes, this is a book that opened my eyes outside of the typical 4 walls of church. I might have to read this again to make sure they (my eyes) stay open too.
I could relate with the main character in a lot of ways.
Its quite low on my scales only because its's not my standard for audio books. Its Kindof non fiction because this issues do go on in the real churches today.
not really a character, the book just got me to thinking alot about my church and what goes on there. It also got me thinking about my role in my church ministry.
Loved teh performance, he read slowly ( but not too slowly) and I was able to follow his reading.
Not sure, In my opinion, it shouldnt be. This should be a story that makes you THINK, not be made "Hollywood."
Yes, to see if I missed something
The perspective that an apostle or even Jesus could be involved as a living person in the present and help us learn relationship interaction with otherChristians
I just agreed with the conclusion
I was captivated. As simple as that. I had an immediate connection and felt as if I were taking the journey right along side the author. Made me go,
Lively, animated, believable. Easy to listen to, at least on my ears.
An unexpected motivation to read through the books of John, with anticipation of a new sense of who John really was (is?)
"Boy did this book make me think"
Disturbing to listen to at times but very glad I did. Impacted me greatly in a good way
