Publisher's Summary

As the pampered wife of Frankie Bingham, Camille wants for nothing. After all, Frankie and their life together are her whole world. So Camille tries not to be bothered by his closeness with his coworker and dear friend Gillian. But it soon becomes clear that Camille's suspicions are correct. When his indiscretions become a public matter, Camille is pushed to a dangerous breaking point that spells disaster for them all.

Camille's sister, Misa, is newly divorced and clueless about men. She smothers men with phone calls, emails, and pops up unannounced at their homes. She hacks into their voicemail and email and causes drama. So when she sets her sights on Baron, he has no idea what hit him. Will her quest to win his heart cost her everything?

Dominique Storms appears to have it all - a great career, a beautiful New York condo and a gifted teenaged daughter. Her only problem is that the man she loves is incarcerated. While trying to juggle the demands of motherhood, work, and friendships, she manages to make her man, Jamel, a priority in her life. But is he doing the same? And is she too distracted to notice what is going on with her daughter?

Latoya Blake seems to be the one who has life all figured out - that is, until some skeletons are discovered in her closet. When her well-put-together façade crumbles, will she crumble as well?

What the Critics Say

"Brown makes these desperate women amazingly sympathetic even as they make foolish choices, and the same goes for Frankie B., despite his appalling mistreatment of Camille. It all adds up to some seriously twisted problems leading to some cliffhanging shockeroos that undoubtedly mean a sequel is on its way." (Publishers Weekly)

    "I'm Pissed"

You know, I can appreciate a good series, but for the story to just end abruptly like that makes me feel like I got jipped. I mean when you read the description for the story, you're waiting on Camille to snap, hell I feel she has more than enough reason. And if her sister was gonna snap, it should've been on that crazy ass man she was seeing. I'm disappointed and I wish I could refund this. Not happy with this book. Not happy at all...

    "Needs Work"

The both the narrator and the editor were terrible; it seems like the narrator had trouble reading the story and they didn't even bother to correct the mistakes.

As for the actual story, it was just okay. I think there too many "main characters" and as other reviewers mentioned, the ending sucks. It's like the author just got tired of writing or something.

    "A "must" read"

I was so into this book that I could not wait to hear the sequel to this one. Very well developed characters and I could feel all the emotion of each character and their personal dillemmas. This was like the black mafia and the drama made it so easy to follow.

"Maybe you can redeem yourself w/Snapped pt. 2...."

My first read was "White Lines" and I instantly became a Tracy Brown fan! It was superb and one of my favorite novels. I guess had I not read "White Lines", I would not have expected so much from Snapped. The two definitely cannot compare. I must say, if I had not ordered the audio version of Snapped, I probably would have never finished the book. It was very slow from the beginning until almost the end. If I had purchased the hardcopy instead, I'm sure it would have more than likely ended up on my book shelves in the "never finished" collections. To say the least, I was disappointed. The plot was very predictable and the ending was too much like a Friday soap opera. The only reason, I will tune in on Monday and read Snapped part 2 is in hope Camille will gain vendication f/ her heartless and shallow husband's deceit. Tracy Brown, please redeem yourself in Snapped 2!

"Author has potential; Narrater a novice"

Ok this book kept my interest but it ends like a soap opera cliff hanger (only you dont get to see the next show in 24 hours). I was actually wondering if the last chapter was missing. The narrator's voice is ok but she reads as if she never practiced but picked up the book and just got going. Her voice rises and falls at the wrong time...and she actually repeated a phrase.

    "Where's the End"

This books keeps you interested then JUST ENDS. I have a lot of questions that went unanswered. Narrator does repeat a phrase once, I think even twice. Overall, I guess I will be waiting for part II if there is one.

    "Narrator Sucked"

I really like the story even though Camille made me a little upset. Now I'm ready for the sequel. I just hope there's a different narrator!

    "HORRIBLE NARRATOR"
Would you listen to Snapped again? Why?

Not if I have a choice. The narrator was so horrible. Its like they recorded the entire book in one sitting, didn't edit anything, and just decided to go with whatever they had.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It was ok, a little less dramatic than I thought it would be. But I'm glad its a second book because its still alot left to each of these stories.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

It really took away from the story hearing her turn pages, mess up, cough, and turn the music on and off at the beginning and end of each chapter.

If you could take any character from Snapped out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Gillian to try and show her that shes an idiot. or Camille to try and show her that she let herself go

    Any additional comments?

It was sad to hear the goodness of Frankie at the beginning of the story and what he ended up turning into. Its like he was portrayed so greatly, but he ended up being not a good person at all, a coward in more ways than one.

    "HORRIBLE NARRATOR!!!!!!"
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I enjoyed the story but it was very hard to keep listening to the narrator. It was almost as if she were smacking in between words! She also paused mid sentence quite a bit!
