On the other side of the world, Lorna Mackenzie has reached a similar conclusion. A family wedding provides the excuse for Lorna to sweep her mother and faithless husband up and head to Chez Watkins.

This book is so funny witty and I just can not turn it off....I am up till the wee hours of the morning listening.
The author captures family dynamics to a tee. The characters both major and minor as so well developed.
I so enjoyed this book. I listened to it while traveling to Australia and I laughed outloud. Lou Wakefield characters are genuine and she reads them with such imitative accuracy. You wonder if you didn't meet them once in a pub.
Like the other reviewer, I also found this book funny. Characters are developed and interesting. The jumping back and forth between the two main plots kept me interested (and gave the author opportunities for little cliff-hangers throughout the book). I'd be curious for a man's take on this book. As a woman, I could identify with the story lines and point of view of the main female characters. I'm not sure all men would find it as funny, but I could be wrong.
I am addicted to audio books and listen to about 1 a week and I have enjoyed this one the least. I found some of the accents very annoying and some of the storylines beyond even Chick Lit believable!
Highly recommend this. I enjoyed it so much it sent me off to buy her others
The first 15 mins is a little less wonderful. the author reads her own work and you can sense she getting into it. After that she and the tale take off and fly at good speed. Great value and a great read with a story that will keep you listening.
Funny, fast, fab characters - LOTS of laugh out loud moments.
I also recommend one of her others ... Rural Bliss but Tuscan Sun isn't as good.
All the characters in this book are hilarious - I have recommneded it to so many people and wouldn't hesitate in recommending it again!!
"A cheerful and entertaining listen"
Highly entertaining and good fun. Enthusiatically narrated by Lou Wakefield sharing her enjoyment of the characters from all walks of life. Liberally sprinkled with her wicked sense of humour.
