Publisher's summary

Mercenary Captain Torin Covell needs a man who knows his way around a cockpit. Ace pilot Rain needs to get the hell off-planet. Thrown together by chance, the two men form a wary partnership.

Torin has every intention of dumping Rain at the next moon, despite his intense attraction to the hotshot. In his line of work he can't afford to trust anyone, especially someone as infuriatingly charming and naive as Rain. But first, he's got a mission to complete.

What Rain wants, Rain gets. And what he wants is Torin, any way he can get him. The gorgeous captain isn't making it easy, and the two are quickly embroiled in an erotic battle for supremacy. But when Rain discovers that he's not the only one in pursuit of Torin, he demands to know exactly what sort of "job" he's signed on for....

Something worth listening to!

I've been having a very hard time recently getting through an entire audiobook. Still, I've been devouring e-books from my favorite authors. This leads me to believe that my dissatisfaction is down to the narrators (and yes, a lot is also down to the books and the authors). I bought this book on merit of Jack Lefleur alone. I've never heard of the author, Fae Sutherland (which is likely my own folly and nothing to do with her talent) but I've been wasting so many credits buying books and losing interest that I got desperate. I knew Jack Lefleur as the narrator would not let me down (the synopsis of the book sounded like something he would excel at reading).

Somebody needs to figure out how to bottle this man's voice. It's one of the sexiest things I've ever heard and the more he reads is the more you lose yourself in the words he's weaving around you. Every book he reads is a performance. Each character is given their own distinct voice. Each action pulls you in. It's not hard to imagine that you're sitting in that cockpit with Rain or stalking around the ship with Torin. Once he starts going, you really just have to drop everything, close your eyes, and let his words infuse you.

This book is sexy. There is no other word for it. If I've listened to it slowly it's because I've been savoring it. This is why we listen to gay romance as audiobooks. A sizzlingly hot story with a great plot. Throw in some off-planet action, hidden pasts, and running from the law and you're left with a story that has great characters and lovely world building. I wouldn't say it's the best story I've 'read' but it's definitely better than so many others. Rain and Torin burn the pages the second they are in a room together. Hot, sexy tension and scorching hot sex. And it helps that the plot is solid and believable.

If you have a lazy weekend or could do with a lie-in, download this book and listen. Definitely worth the credit!

Very Enjoyable

Nice story…plenty of sex…and I swear I hear Jack Leflure (the narrator) with his husky, beautiful voice in my nighttime fantasies...if he's reading, I'm buying!

For Geeks

This was gay, sexy, Firefly with a twist. I think my geek switch got crossed with my steamy dreams.

Excellent!

What made the experience of listening to Sky Riders the most enjoyable?

Although the love scenes were good, it was the plot and the movement through it that impressed me. Could have used a little more development at the end, but I was well pleased.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sky Riders?

The Singing Star.

Have you listened to any of Jack Lefleur’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Jack is great. He was even able to have two distinct "country" accents.

Gotta love these two!

Now this audio was just fun. It is a sparing match from the beginning. The attraction is mutual but is it a good time to explore it. Torin and Rain are both very strong personalities and they both are use to getting their own way. They argue, they fight, they get sexed up.

You should listen to see what it takes to earn each others trust.

Our narrator Jack Lefleur has been known to bring listeners in just because he's doing the voices. It's sooo true, he rocks.

I will try agian...

I have to be engaged into a story in like chapter one to keep me interested... and this kind of did, but it just didn't hold my interest. After like chapter 3 the story started to drag a bit. I like Fae Sutherland books, book this was not her best... I will try to re-listen...but for now.. this is not a Wow factor for me.

Not a credit or buy... maybe a sale... a really good one.

Good characters, steamy, and excellent narration

I adore science fiction M/M romance and there’s not a ton of it around. The story was a fairly standard trope, but I really enjoyed it. There was plenty of heat. The narrator is really good. Torin’s voice was what I pictured for him and Rain’s was perfect with that soft, Southern drawl. Easy to tell the MC’s apart and that’s not always the case.

Terrible writing, boring plot, unlikable character

This was so incredibly cringe.
I absolutely do not understand how this exists as any amount of proofreading should have caught some of the awful writing.

These characters just have no chemistry but the writing simply tells us there is chemistry instead of showing, making the whole thing just feel disconnected. Like, just telling me there's chemistry doesn't magically make it true when absolutely no writing went into actually trying to portray it.

These characters also, i have no idea what anyone looks like, not nearly enough time went into descriptors or any identifiers to clearly mark out who is who.

This romance also just feels so inappropriate. They have like an insta lust thing going on but absolutely nothing really to give away why there is any lust to begin with. It like just comes out of nowhere. I can dig lust filled romances but any amount of build up would have been nice. Instead they just drop things so casually and weirdly terrible timing.

This whole thing was just a mess.

0 Personality

Flat characters, so not surprising they don't have any chemistry with each other. Narration was solid, but not good enough for me to finish this book. Bo-ring

I loved this book.

I loved how this book flowed. The ex-con community finding a new place to exist. I really enjoyed the story.
