This year's stories are by an award-nominated author of horror and suspense. Two of the stories are novellas. Hear dark tales of terror and intrigue from an alien child left on an Earth overrun by zombie cannibals to the first killer in all the world, Cain, the murderer of Abel, his brother. This is a worthy addition to the ongoing yearly series of Sinister, these eight tales will make your dreams restless.

A short but entertaining audiobook, containing an interesting collection of horror stories. Demons, aliens, hit men, and just down right bad men show up in these short stories; there is even a novel retelling of the biblical story of Cain and Abel. The narration is great, he has a pleasing voice that creates tension and excitement at the appropriate points in the story. This is a book of eight very different short stories. The stories range from zombies to the story of Cain and Abel. Somehow the author gives the stories A great sense of cohesiveness. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading. I received this book at no cost to me from the author narrator or publisher for a honest review
I enjoyed listening to this book especially with Joe Hempel’s narration. Some of the stories I liked but not all are horror some are sy-fi. It contains robots, aliens and zombies. Overall good and different listen for short stories. This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom. Thank you!
Some good gems mixed in with some that just weren't my cup
Of tea. The narration was good. Listened optimum at 1.25 speed. Will look for more by both the author and narrator as it was a promising introduction to both. I received this audiobook from the author narrator or publisher for free via audiobookboom in exchange for an unbiased review
I am a wee bit over the half a century mark in years. I enjoy audiobooks, cats, rats and most days my family, not necessarily in that order!lo
Well, these tales were interesting and more sci-fi fi than sinister. They were good, not great.Joe Hempel narrates perfectly though.I was provided this book free by the author, narrator or publisher.
I thought the stories were boring and uninteresting. The only good thing about this audiobook was Joe Hempel. I received this audiobook for free through Audiobook Boom for my unbiased review.
This audiobook was not for me. I had expected horror stories, but instead got some weird sci-fi stories and few very odd horror-ish stories.
Unfortunately, none of these short stories stuck with me, and a few I skimmed over because I did not find them particularly interesting.
The narration was decent, but nothing extraordinary.
I hate giving poor reviews, but I just can't get above 2 stars on this one.

I felt that the narrator was ok, he didn't really add anything extra to the stories that I couldn't have enjoyed by reading the book myself.
I particularly liked the demon in the story The Devouring, s/he/it is an evil creature that learns that evil should be creative too
I would have liked to hear more atmosphere and tension in the story
The character Cain was brought to life in In The Beginning-The First Killer, in a retelling of one of the oldest stories in the Bible. He is shown in a more sympathetic light than ever before
