Roberta Valentine used to be a party girl. But that is all over as she searches for a real relationship. She feels her chances slipping away as she moves into her 30s. She has all but given up. Then she meets her main competitor in the outdoor gear business: Blake. That woman slowly weaves her way into Roberta's heart. The biggest obstacle? Blake is straight. Through all the lies and tragedy, can their odd relationship survive? Can they truly find the beauty hiding all around us? This is set in the same world as Music of the Soul but is a stand-alone book.

I love the author and his impeccable ability to tell such amazing stories :)
If you are looking for a story with some humor, some sadness and lots of love and kindness then Silent Bob will not disappoint.
And the lovely Hollie Jackson does a superb performance! Love her voice and the life she brings to the characters.
if you understand that this author's stories are sort of young adult (fade to black on sex) and ridiculously (I mean that in a good way) uplifting, then dig in. I love his narrator and routinely listen to one of his titles when I need an adventure and a boost in my morale. I'm normally never a fade to black kind of reader, but I make an exception for this guy.
This is definitely one of my favorites.
I enjoy all of Hollie Jackson's work. She really helps to bring the story and the characters alive. I also love her accents and how she differentiates the characters.
I loved Silent Bob and Hollie Jackson was perfect as our Bobby! I caught myself smiling throughout the entire book. It was difficult to turn it off and I couldn't wait to listen some more! I loved the reunion from a lot of the Music of the Soul characters! I'll definitely have to re-listen to the other books.
I'm glad Hollie was able to narrate again, she always does a fantastic job. Hollie makes it easy to get lost in the story and to fall in love with the characters.
Can't wait for the next Schubach book to come to life!
Delight in the journey and the struggle on the road to your dreams
After listening to all five books in the series I am able to pretty much anticipate each succeeding twist in the book's plot. That being said I still found myself in tears during several segments in the second portion of this quite short, but greatly listenable audio. Characters from all but the initial audiobook in the Seattle Lesbian Love collection, Music of the Soul. Though once again many of the individuals in the story are much too good to be real, or maybe because of that; you love them. Hearing the testimonials everyone was giving Roberta aka Silent Bob had me bawling like a politician facing the press after getting caught in a scandal; well, except for the tears being real part. I think I even saw a few tears sneaking down the old man's face, as he vehemently denied any such emotional reaction. Unlike him I didn't deduct any points for a lack of purported reality in the characters presented; they were women, they were sexually adventurous, and I wanted to meet and hang with most of them. If you are a fan of the first four books, you'll love this one too. If this is your first listen, keep a few Kleenex handy.
This is a really fun story. The characters are well defined and interesting. The reading was a bit hard to cope with because it interrupted the flow. too "matter of fact". kind of felt like someone was reading the news.
