I enjoyed this much more than I expected.

I put off listening to Side Jobs until I was really needing a Dresden fix. I expected to not enjoy the short story format but was pleasantly surprised. the deeper looks into some of the other characters and story from their points of view adds a new dimension to the Dresden series. hopefully Jim butcher will continue along that line and develop other storylines in the Dresden universe.

More Please

It was wonderful getting a view of Harry's world from different characters' perspectives. Series in the first person sometimes miss greater depth due to the narrow focus, so I really hope there will be further "side jobs." As for James Marsters' performance, I am blown away by the breadth of his skills: drama, accents, tones, timing...amazing!

Wow - I have been missing a great series

Where does Side Jobs rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This was a REALLY good book, I would put it in the top five without a doubt

Who was your favorite character and why?

Loved Harry Dresden - especially when things weren't quite going his way

Which character – as performed by James Marsters – was your favorite?

Surprisingly - Murphy. His portrayal of her was great.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laughed at quite a few parts - loved Harry trying to have a day off - could identify completely!! Not so much the werewolves making out in the living room, but the total cluster of the day was very funny!

Any additional comments?

For not having read any of the Dresden books previously, this was a great sampler of the stories and characters. Will be starting with book one and check out the series. Especially liked seeing that James Marsters is reading the whole set of books, I like that. His voice is great and he gave each character their own unique personality.

Solid stuff - great narration

Great series, solid addition. Most of the short stories are well written and nice additions.
This is a great example of a narrator who is very well matched to the series.

Excellent history and context

These stories demonstrate the author's growth as a story teller. They also develop characters in the Dresdan stories, and provide context for his longer novels. Well done!

Yes this is worth it

I really enjoy the Dresden Files. The short stories give additional information and flesh out the other characters. I don’t usually like anthologies because I get to waste money on novellas I wouldn’t ever buy, but this one is all Jim so it, is in my opinion worth it. I also have to say that Dresden know sounds like James Marsters in my mind even when I’m just reading them. I have sometimes stopped listening to other series because of the reader and the absolute hash they make of the books but it is the opposite of this for James.
