With her shopping excesses (somewhat) in check and her career as a TV financial guru thriving, Becky's biggest problem seems to be tearing her entrepreneur boyfriend, Luke, away from work for a romantic country weekend. And worse, figuring out how to "pack light." But packing takes on a whole new meaning when Luke announces he's moving to New York for business - and he asks Becky to go with him!
Before you can say "Prada sample sale," Becky has landed in the Big Apple, home of Park Avenue penthouses and luxury department stores.
Surely it's only a matter of time until she becomes an American TV celebrity, and she and Luke are the toast of Gotham society. Nothing can stand in their way, especially with Becky's bills miles away in London.
But then an unexpected disaster threatens her career prospects, her relationship with Luke, and her available credit line! Shopaholic Takes Manhattan - but will she have to return it?
This book is also known as Shopaholic Abroad.

I really enjoyed this book. This book is witty and funny right from the start. It is hard to put down just waiting to see what will happen next. The reader, Emily Gray really brings the characters to life. I can't wait to read the other two books in the series.
I did not really think the second book would be as good as the first, they rarely are,but it is! A smashing read.
the things i have learned from reading this series of books i will be able to shop appropriately for the rest of my life....... or at least be able to stay in debt for the rest of my life ;-)
I know this is supposed to be light & fun reading; but I began to hate Becky. She is deceptive and manipulative, and lies to her loved ones. I couldn't root for her or care about how things turned out. For light reading, this was alot of work.
Listens while running
For some reason, I actually like this better than the first book. I find Becky's plight in this book somehow more relatable, and she's a bit quicker and smarter in her response to the situation. Emily Gray's narration is still spot on.
I am sad to say that I thoroughly disliked this book. I enjoyed “Confessions of a Shopaholic”. However, this is the same story with a different setting. I smiled my way through Confessions because this silly character seemed to learn from her mistakes. End of story? Nope. We get to read how Rebecca is NOT simply foolish in a charming way; but is just plain stupid (the chapel scene, really?). I enjoy a light, chick lit novel, I do not expect a literary masterpiece, but this book is just plain annoying.
This really exceeded my expectations, to be honest. I was tempted to not download it after initially listening to the the first book, written about a lovable and imaginative protagonist who happens to never quite encounter any sort of realistic consequences for her behavior. I'm glad I did, though. Kinsella was able to broach the topic of thoughtless financial insolvency with far more gravity than in the series' debut. I enjoyed the multi-dimensionality of the character development and the fact that there was less timidity toward difficult dialogue between Becky and Luke.
The narration was spirited, but voice diversity left something to be desired, and the attempt at an American accent was continually jarring, but not awful.
"If you love Sex & the City you'll love this"
Ok so the average british girl doesn't have a job in TV or a mega rich boyfriend but this book provides some first class escapism, and if you have a soft spot for New York you'll enjoy all the references to sights of the Big Apple.
Hadn't realised that I had already read the book because the name was changed.
"Definitely not as good as the first, but enjoyable"
Sophie Kinsella is the queen of silly and enjoyable novels that are fun and escapist but manages to avoid creating complex or realistic characters that have any literary value further than a bubble bath and a few laughs.
If you enjoyed the first book, this is a nice follow on, but by no means literary genius.
"Not as good as the 1st book"
i loved the 1st book because of it was original but when it came the 2nd and 3rd book i could not stand the same jokes and descriptions, story. it feels like reading the 1st book again. very boring
"Easy and fun"
This book is a really easy listening and fun book and very addictive as I completed it in 3 days.
