Critic reviews

"Through it all, Becky never loses her spark, making this fifth entry in the Shopaholic series every bit as delightful and hilarious as its predecessors." (Booklist)

“From sonograms to the hottest baby strollers to tricked-out birthing rooms... Kinsella’s ode to baby blues is both sly and slapstick.” (Publishers Weekly)

“As fun as a shopping spree.” (Entertainment Weekly)

“Faster than a swiping Visa, more powerful than a two-for-one coupon, able to buy complete wardrobes in a single sprint through the mall - it’s Shopaholic!” (The Washington Post)

Not the same - still good

If you love Becky this one won't disappoint. My only complaint would be the narration. Although it was very good, after listening to the first 3 Shopaholics Emily Gray was Becky to me. I really missed her on this one as I did with Shopaholic & Sister. I also found the pronunciation of "Suze" rather annoying. In the other books it's "Sues", in this one "Suzie". It's a small thing but it really distracted me. Overall fun listen with good narration, just not the same Becks I've grown to love.

Good Book, Bad Narrator

As all the Shopaholic Series that's really fun and entretaining but I don´t like the narrator, her voice sound too old to be Becky! I seariously prefer the Confessions of a Shopaholic & shopaholic takes Manhattan narrator.

Lives up to the Shopaholic Standards

This was my first time listening to one of the Shopaholic books, and I loved it! Rosalyn (the reader) kept me thoroughly enthralled from beginning to end, just as I would have been had I actually been reading the book myself. Very well done!!!!!

First Audio Book Ever

I was very surprised to hear this book. I've never heard an audio book before but I thought I'd give it a try... I was very surprised to hear the British accent, it's nice though. I thought it sounded a bit robotic and choppy. I'll have to hear it more to maybe get used to it. Just not what I was expecting at all.

Worth buying BUT narrator is bad!

Once you get this far into the series, you, of course want to finish it. The story wasn't as good as the others, but it's worth reading. So I recommend it, however...

As others have mentioned the narrator was terrible. I adored Emily Gray in the first 3 Shopaholic books and the women who did 4th wasn't too bad. But the women who narrated this last book must not have listened to the other books. I cringed every time she pronounced "Suzy" instead of "Suz," plus the major company in the novel was pronounced wrong as well. Everyone sounded much older in this book, especially Suze and Luke.

But overall it's a really good series to read.

Pretty good story line - terrible narrator

The story line in this one was MUCH better than Shopaholic and Sister which almost made me stop listening to the series. I didn't want to strangle Becky (more than usual) and I really wanted to keep listening. The story line seemed more realistic and like she had matured somewhat.

The narrator though was terrible. She clearly didn't listen to previous versions to see how things should have been pronounced. Suze is not Suzy, Arcodus was wrong... all the male characters sounded the same and Becky herself sounded like she was 50 years old and way more mature. Emily Gray really had nailed it and nobody has really been able to match her. It really makes a difference in how the book is portrayed. Reading this one would have been better.

Good book - awful narrator

I like this series, but the narrator was awful, and that took a lot of fun out of this book. I had to start over five times before I could bring myself to listen to this reader. And the 'Suzy' thing really got on my nerves. These books have been my treat during the long commute to work, and it was such a disappointment not to have the narrator from the first two books, but I listened to the end to see what Becky was up to now.

Narrator choice is all wrong, but story is great

I agree with the Many reviews saying it yet the narrator choice is not at all good. It’s distracting to keep switching narratives, Emily Gray IS the BEST Becky, and the narrator choice just isn’t a good fit for the book. The performance sounds soooo detached from every other narration and frankly is distracting. Becky sounds weird. Luke *does* sound like a stuffy British guy! The narrator doesn’t make a realistic Becky. She isn’t untalented generally, but a very poor fit. Just like the narrator of the Little Lady series. The wrong choice ruins it. Please re-record this, ideally with Emily Gray! Why wasn’t she picked for Every Shopaholic book?

Total Chick Book

I was trying something new. I wanted a good story and I could not get into this one at all. I made it only 45 minutes. If you are into real life and its drama, pick this one. If you enjoy sci fi and fantasy this is not a take a break book.

Why change narrators? WHY??

I love these books and I can't even finish this one. The new narrator is terrible. The voices are distracting and so far from what we've grown to love. I can't even finish.
