Publisher's summary

Can a person’s life change in just one day? How about seven?

This is the story of seven pivotal days in Evan Donaldson’s life. Evan was a teenage street hustler when Father Valentin talked him into coming to Saint Bartholomew’s Academy. In that one day, Evan’s entire life changed. That’s the day he met his roommate, Clay Mueller, and the day Evan began to live. But Evan’s life would change again and again, from abuse to first love, to separation and heartbreak, and eventually to starting his own family. Through it all, whenever a door closed for Evan, a window opened, and the window was Clay.

From the first day of finding faith and connecting with Clay through their relationship’s twists and turns, this is a glimpse into seven decisive days and the critical, amazing way a single moment can change destiny.

OK story. Narrator needs to execute punctuation.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would have read it instead of listening to it.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Kind of jumps over time but that could have been the way it was narrated. See next item.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

He ran on without regard to commas, periods, exclamation points, or obvious changes in time. From one scene to another there is a ten year jump but because the narrator ran it like a stop sign, it was not evident at first. Sometimes, it was difficult to tell which character was

What would have made this romance irresistible?

I'm not sure. I like other Andrew Grey novels and they all seem to have similar themes but this one just didn't grab me.

Another happy ending

Thank you Andrew Grey you NEVER disappoint! Loved the entire story from beginning to end.

Felt the hurt when he was not believed by the priest, lost his best friend, found the love he always wanted, then the closure desperately needed.

Great ending!

Thank you for using Sean Crisden he's amazing!

Great Story below average narration

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would recommend this book but probable not the audio book version.

What didn’t you like about Brian Mills’s performance?

Brian Mill's voice was very mellow-tone and did not get into the story as other narrators have done. This made it challenging to get in to the story. Brian's Accent made this story hard to place as a British man read a story that was to take place in and around Milwaukee.

A Sweet Boy's School Romance

This book made me smile. The reader is wonderful and the story had real depth to it. It wasn't just about sex.

I've noticed that a lot of the gay/lesbian genre available on audible presents stories more focused on sex or scandal. I was thrilled because this is a sweet story about the characters and about love.

Grey presents wholesome relatable characters that you will grow to love.

The story isn't perfect, but it's fun to listen to and closer to what I'd imagine a male/male relationship is really like. It feels real to me. I suggested the book to a dear friend of mine who is a gay male and he enjoyed the story as well and agreed it felt real unlike most in the genre.

Grey writes some of the best gay romance on audible. I highly recommend him.

A good read...

The interesting thing about this book is that after concluding it, I liked it better than when I was listening to it. The “days” were too broken up, and the story would have benefited from some more interaction between Clay and Evan. However, looking back over it, I appreciate what was included, and I think I might read it another time.

One brief drawback was the sound quality. When the voices were mixed toward the end, one voice was much louder than the other. I had to keep raising and lowering the volume. It didn’t last that long. Sean Crisden did a great job, as usual. He’s a favorite of mine.

Even with Crisden narration... Grey book are bad..

I tried... Even with Sean Crisden narration... I just don't like Andrew Grey. His story are just sooo sappy. Get to the point already. It takes forever for any action to happen in his stories, there is no angst and the romantic build up is just eh! So So... Crisden did a great narration job...but the story just had not depth or plot here, So I can't even give it a higher start.

There needs to be more 3 star or more m/m romances on audible but there is just so few and far in between.

A sale book. Not a credit or buy
