"This book will have you checkin' for K'wan!"

This book gets all credit for starting my love affair with Urban Fiction! Once I began listening, I was instantly intrigued. I had no idea there were books like this! I had fallen out of reading and had only truly gotten back into it due to the writer's strike on TV. One day I decided to take chance a story called Section 8 and was blown away! I love how each chapter tells its own story all the while leaving you with a tidbit of info to keep in mind as the plot thickens. This story seemed to just unexpectedly pull you in each characters own triumph and dilemma and make you want to know more about their story whether it be good or bad. My favorite character was Gucci just because she was so down to earth and loyal. The interaction between her and her girlfriends felt real because K'wan truly made them individuals, flaws and all. Oh and this character Animal was the epitome of what I want in a boyfriend in my head lol. This was a great read/listen and once I was done, I had Welfare Wifey's next on deck! This may be the first book offered by the very talented author on audible.com, but it is merely scratching the surface when it comes to K'wan's catalog. Ya'll need to see about that man!!

    "Nice Surprise!"

It took a minute for the writer to introduce all the characters, but once that was out of the way it was a very good listen, I got to where I would sit in my car and continue to listen after I got to my destination, I really enjoyed this one, I had alot of laugh out loud moments!!

"Good but the Sequeal is Better!"

I actually listened to the sequel Welfare Wifeys first before I realized that there was a book before it. This is a good listen but the narrator just didn't live up to the job that the Welfare Wifeys narrator gave. I still suggest this book because it gives you more insight on the charactors which I enjoyed.

    "Narration was Lacking"
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No because I had to rewind constantly to make sense of all the grammatical errors made by the narrator.

What other book might you compare Section 8 to and why?

The content I would compare to Welfare Wifey's but the listening experience for Welfare Wifey's is far much better.

Would you be willing to try another one of Napiera Groves’s performances?

    Capital N.O. I wouldn't waste another credit.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    Yes, I would definitely!

    Any additional comments?

    Plain and simple... Story=100% Narration=0%

    "Awesome"
What made the experience of listening to Section 8 the most enjoyable?

I have about a 30 minute drive to work daily so I look forward to listening to a good story. I decided to listen when I was reading various reviews.

What did you like best about this story?

This story is gritty with unexpected twists. This author is dead on.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The narration was okay. Not always fond on females doing male voices. I got use to it.

    "An average read!"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes, I would recommend thi book to others, but I would tell them that it is an average read because as you are introduced to the characters and become familiar with them, there isn't anything new or fresh about them.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The development of the relationship between Animal and Gucci was interesting. I liked that Gucci had strong values about love and support.

What aspect of Napiera Groves’s performance would you have changed?

Can't think of anything at this time.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    I am not sure.

    Any additional comments?

    No.

    "Great Listen"

I listened to the books out of order but I enjoyed this story from start to finish. After realizing there were more in the series I purchased all 3 and re-listened to them again. I can't wait for the next book.
