I did not see the ending to this one coming...maybe I am naive, but King is so good at very descriptive storytelling that you get so engrossed in the characters that you feel like you are right there experiencing everything yourself! What can I say about James Woods!!! He was the perfect match for telling this story! When the movie came out and I watched it, even though I love Depp he couldn't do it justice after hearing Woods tell the story. I wished they had Woods do the movie! I highly recommend this audio book!!!!
Freaky as only Stephen King could do it, leaving the mind reworking the story. Not sure it can all make sense, but the insanity is probably part of the beauty. Great narration too...a wonderful listen in the dark!
Where does he come up with all these stories? They are great. I like reading King, he keeps me enthralled and on the edge of my seat. It also makes me work faster, since I listen while I am at work. Again the twist and turns are fantastic. Read it, you will like it, if you like horror/mystery books.
This just wasn't a story for me. Yes, I know this is a King story and would be dark, but none of the characters were ones to spend time with; no redeeming qualities to be found.
Relatively new to King, this being the third book I've listened to. I loved the first two and was very surprised by the ugliness of this story.
Mr. Woods was fine; the music swelling at the "scary" parts to make sure we knew it was scary was distracting and made hearing the narrative difficult.
Another grate story by Mr King, a psychologic thriller you just don't know witch way
it will go.
A real page turner, as a narator mr James Woods does a good job, wood like to hear
his narrate more stories..
If you like King this is a must have..

Great book and a great story. Plus, James Wood does an excellent job as the narrator as he manages to fill the shoes of both of the characters that were played in the movie by Johnny Depp and John Turturro. Only complaint, this was one of the few times where the TV ending was much better than that of the book.
I was really disappointed. The plot was predictable. And, it was way too short. I wouldn't have purchased it if I knew it was only 5 hours long.
