In a secluded corner of Hope Beach, one woman must decipher a stranger’s memories...before they cost her everything. Elin Summerall was one of the lucky ones. Not only did she get a heart transplant, but the donor was a perfect fit. A miraculously perfect fit. But when Elin begins having violent flashbacks - and vivid dreams of being strangled - she realizes that she has been the recipient of more than just a new heart. Elin is remembering her donor's murder. Her strange affliction has attracted some unwanted attention: from the press, from the authorities - and from the killer himself.
Now, living alone with her young daughter and aging mother, Elin is being stalked - by a man she's only met in her nightmares. The police are dubious of her story, but one off-duty FBI agent is eager to help her: Agent Marc Everton, the father of Elin's daughter. Of course, he doesn't know about that. Yet. Now, in a remote cottage on Hope Island, Elin and Marc must probe the secrets buried in her borrowed heart. And there's no time to waste. One man is desperate to silence her - before she remembers too much.

I have loved all of Colleen Coble's books, and this is no exception. She develops her characters and stories very well. This story about a heart transplant recipient is different than anything I have read by her. My only criticism is I wish she had done more explanation of cell memory, But, that does not take away from the book. I highly recommend it!
Intrigue, good outcome, unpredictable, good character development, good morals and yet true to life. What a refreshing change to read this author after reading so many books that I have had to return due to foul language or steamy sex scenes.
The story was beautiful, and showed that even if you make big mistakes in your life, God will still love You and still has a plan He designed for you before the foundations of the earth, and since He is All Knowing, He knew the mistakes we would make and worked that into His Plan for our good and His Glory. Thank You Jesus!
The narrator was fantastic, and I hope she is born again as well!
Suspenseful Romance with realistic emotions! Not overly sappy and not terribly predictable either. There was just enough suggestive scenes to make it real but I appreciate the Christian values infused. I'm looking forward to the next book already!
I love this series! I especially love that Colleen has done so much research of the Tidewater/OBX area. As a native of Virginia Beach, I loved her detail and the Narrator's near perfect pronunciation of Norfolk. Bravo to excellent research!
I am a glass artist and while I create, I listen to books. each creation has memory of one listened to. I love Jesus and my family.
Good story line... Real ... Kept my interest. This writer is awesome and the reader is my favorite.... Recommend this book.
A massive edit and a significant rewrite! This book does not even seem like a Colleen Coble book.
Stop introducing more and more characters. Stop with the weird characters. Go back and reread the beginning of the story. Good grief. Train wreck of unbelievable background for the characters that never improves. The entire book seems like someone hijacked her usual writing style and quality.
It sounded contrived. But seriously, I'm just not sure it could have sounded much better given the horrible material.
Fully half the book. And at least half the characters. It would begin with all the ridiculous thoughts of Ellen that we "hear". I wanted to scream and wouldn't have finished, but I spent the money and kept hoping it would get better.
The events in this story are totally unbelievable and certainly the way the characters react to all that happens to them is strange. The only good thing about this book is the narration.
The story is not worth the credit!
