Publisher's Summary

There are reasons we fear the night. He still isn't one of them. Bill Ryder, the trash-talking undead geek from Bill the Vampire, is back and about to find himself in a whole new world of side-splitting insanity.

One of the most powerful vampires on the planet has given Bill a death sentence. Meanwhile, an immortal princess wants him for an entirely different purpose, one which makes his first issue seem almost preferable. All the while, new and powerful forces have begun to emerge from the shadows around him. Are they friend or foe? Knowing his luck, do you even have to ask?

Bill's only hope is to marshal his friends, master his powers, and somehow prove that he's the scariest dead thing of them all.

I like scifi and urban fantasy. I don't like romance novels. If you are the same my reviews should help.

If you could sum up Scary Dead Things in three words, what would they be?

    Funny, light-hearted, silly.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Scary Dead Things?

That Bill could not convince his friends he had sex in China. It was one of the funnier parts of the book.

Which character – as performed by Christopher John Fetherolf – was your favorite?

Bill is the best character and I like the voice as it reminds me of Paul Giamatti in a good way. He is self-depreciating and crass. Kind of like if Charlie Brown and Howard Stern had a son and turned him into a vampire.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No. it is a fun, light read and isn't designed to be particulary movig. It is the literary equivalent of eating a twinky light, tasty but no substance to speak of.

    Any additional comments?

If you like the first book you will like this one. If you did not like the first book or were on the fence you will feel the same after this book.

Audiobooks are great tool in dealing with my ADHD. They limit distractions while listening and I don't have to sit still. PS. I can't spell

Bill is Back.My favourite telecommuting, under achieving, game programmer turned vampire is once again unleasing his unique can of wimp-ass on the vampire establishment. Bill's an anti-literary industry vampire. He's dumpy, he's bespectacled, he's a nerd but he doesn't sparkle. IMHO the strength of the series is the character's interaction. I just love the conversational banter between the characters.

You would have to read The Tome of Bill, Book 2, Bill the Vampire. It's another great story with a Khan. Bill gets to visit the far east and Sally's fun with Bill is just so wicked.

I really enjoyed this audio book and I have already started listening to book 3

It's a good follow-up with plenty of chuckles. I think I laughed more with installment, lots of good comebacks from Sally, D &D references, and they are still experimenting in Bill to learn what it means to be a vampire IRL.
During the first third of the book I really hoped Bill would kill Sally. By the end it's apparent how much she is needed and how she helps Bill. I look forward to more in this series.

"What the FRAK is going on, people???"

I can't stand it! How completely isolated from LIFE do you have to be to NOT know how to pronounce "denizen" and "voila"? Den-ZEE-en and VEE-oh-la??? WTF? And it's not just this one narrator - I've come across this crap in at least *3* other audiobooks! Helloooo? It doesn't appear to be an issue with the text, cuz I've checked the Kindle vers. It CAN'T be the narrator himself - there HAS to be a producer, quality checker, someTHING, right? Holy CRAP, people!

If nothing else, it's an absolute INSULT to the author(s).

    "Funny, Snarky Bill...gotta love him!"
What did you like best about this story?

I like the banter and sometimes snarky attitude of the characters.

What about Christopher John Fetherolf’s performance did you like?

Ok, he has a strange drawl at moments but overall fun to listen to. Even foul language sits comfortable with me when is uses it!

If you could rename Scary Dead Things, what would you call it?

Not sure.... Bill and the Vamp Child Bride

    Any additional comments?

Story is funny and a lite "read'. Just enjoy and laugh a little.

    "yes, sequel!"
What made the experience of listening to Scary Dead Things the most enjoyable?

Learning more about Bills Free Will powers and lauphing how Sally always screws him over.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Bill, because he is the hero most like me. Except employed.

What about Christopher John Fetherolf’s performance did you like?

His dry wit and humorous tone. It reminds me a little bit of Red Dwarf.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

It would have to be the same tag line for the first book.
"There are dangerous things go bump in the night, he isn't one of them"
