Publisher's summary

A Savannah florist is about to score the wedding of a lifetime—one that will solidify her career as the go-to-girl for society nuptials. Ironically, Cara Kryzik doesn't believe in love, even though she creates beautiful flower arrangements to celebrate them. But when the bride goes missing and the wedding is in jeopardy, Cara must find the bride and figure out what she believes in. Maybe love really does exist outside of fairy tales after all.

Told with Mary Kay Andrews's trademark wit and keen eye for detail, mark your calendars for Save the Date!

Critic reviews

“Narrator Kathleen McInerney's perky voice and sweet tone engage listeners with this light summer read. Beautiful florist Cara Kryzik has had a run of bad luck, but true love and the chance to be the "go-to" florist for the wealthy brides of Savannah are there--just out of reach. McInerney easily transitions between the voices of determined Cara; her brusque father; hunky Jack Finnerty, her love interest; and Bert, her flighty and funny assistant. A great listen for a day at the beach or a rainy day curled up on a couch.” —AudioFile

“Narrator McInerney reads in a lively tone bringing both empathy and humor and flawlessly delivering fun character voices. This entertaining chick lit/romance is perfect for a lazy summer at the beach.” —Publishers Weekly

MKA does it again!

What a great book! this is the 2nd time I've listened to it, and I enjoyed it just as much the 2nd time as I did the first time. No spoilers here! Just suffice to say that it is a great book, totally a chick book, and well worth your credit!

Blah

Is there anything you would change about this book?

A lot. It's entirely too long, not really going anywhere. I haven't finished it yet, and am unlikely to do so, even though there are only three hours left. Three long, long hours.

What was most disappointing about Mary Kay Andrews’s story?

There were quite a few things. Cara tilts quite far toward irrationality. She's whiny and cynical and wonders why she has few friends. I wonder why the male lead is interested in her. Then there's the scene with her dog. Yeah, her assistant was wrong to do what she did, but when you take a job as a florist's assistant, that doesn't include dog-sitting, especially when the assistant makes it very clear they're not a fan of dogs. At all. Cara's reaction to that situation is what put me over the edge on this one.

What about Kathleen McInerney’s performance did you like?

She always does an amazing job. I love the way she voices the characters and her narration is always a pleasure to listen to.

Was Save the Date worth the listening time?

Nope. That's why I'm about to return it. Waste of a credit.

Any additional comments?

It's really too bad that this is so hard to get through. I had been looking forward to this one.

Boy gets the girl

A bit predictable but I did like the main female character. Cute and easy read.

A Favorite

I have listened to almost every single one of Mary Kay Andrews' books, and I have to say that this is one of my all-time favorites! It must be something about the characters, plot, and scene that Andrews creates that makes me want to keep listening and find out what happens next. Wonderful author and another astoundingly good book. #chicklit #comfycozy #fiction #tagsgiving #sweepstakes
