Very Good

This is one of King's earlier books and he definitely has a different writing style than some of his later books. The plot is overall very good though a tad slow at times. Definitely worth listening too and the narrator was great.

Scary

Loved the story snd think it’s one of King’s best. The narrator at first sounded like he was a poor choice, as he had a decent, but unremarkable, sounding voice. He really surprised me with the range of voices he was able to convey. He was a delight to listen to.

Not my favorite King, but a darn good one.

Dracula comes to Maine with spectacular results. This classic Stephen King will give you a good shiver (though the end falters a bit). Terrific narration and pacing.

Vampires are nut merely a virus or a chance "product of evolution"

Vampires by their very nature are undead and intrinsically evil; there is no such thing as a "good" vampire. Since vampires on not simply a product of a virus, poison or merely another randomly evolved species (the latter is ridiculous when considering vampires are undead), the malevolence of vampires inspires an instinctive irrational fear of more than mere death in the physical sense. A lack of faith and/or a fallen sinful state can doom one's soul. Stephen King's Salem's Lot is an excellent vampire horror story in the classic style where the conflict is founded on the battle between good and evil, and the faithful servants of God and the slaves of the evil one.

Salem's Lot needs a sequel.

Salem's Lot is my favorite Stephen King book. Why? Because it terrifies me! I wish it had a second part. Long and terrifying.

Stephen King at his best

I go between this book and the Stand as my favorite King Book. I have read all his books, novellas and short stories but Salem’s Lot outshines them all. If you are new to this genre, start here if you have read the dark tower series then Father Callaghan’s character begins in this book along with the vampires.
