“A master storyteller.” (The Los Angeles Times)

“Stephen King has built a literary genre of putting ordinary people in the most terrifying situations. . . . He’s the author who can always make the improbable so scary you'll feel compelled to check the locks on the front door.” (The Boston Globe)

A modern classic, a must listen for everyone!

Great story, great voice performance! Even if you've read it, it's worth listening to again!

One of my favorite King story.

The reader was excellent, one of the best I can recall hearing. The story is outstanding and I think I learned some stuff about writing along the way. This is one of my top 3 King novels and I can’t praise this version highly enough.

Gorgeous Descriptions

I love this book. I read a physical copy years ago and it was a huge treat to listen to it. The descriptions are stunning, on par with Stoker's Dracula.
I love this book so much.

A Classic

With Stephen King you know the writing will be good and descriptive, but this one is especially dark. This book doesn't reach out and grab you right away, but rather crawls towards you invitingly and catches you right when you get comfortable. A great book.

Excellent!

I read this book back when it was first published, and saw the original TV production as well. Loved both. Still love it...it was very nice to listen to it in this format. Great story, writing, and the narrator was excellent...he brought the story to life...ah...as it were!

Wonderful Thriller

I am a Stephen King fan and I have read this book on paperback before. I love his detailed description of entire scenes, and that is probably one of the greatest reasons for my interest in his novels. I really enjoyed the readers portrayal of each character and how he conveys their emotions throughout the novel.

awesome book

great vampire tale, told in classic Stephen King style. So much more than the movies and very scary with a bit of classic gothic spook thrown in too the villain.
