Very good book. Some Audible distractions

First, this was a very inspiring book, and I recommend it. But I think it would be better read than on Audible.
Reasons:
1. Narrator was very good, but Jesus sounding like Darth Vader was over the top and distracting.
2. The music going into and coming out of chapters was terrible. Also distracting.

I was not inspired by the heavenly scenes. Maybe others would be.

This is a wonderful book. It will inspire you in so many ways. I have traveled in China extensively and I believe it to be an accurate picture.

Incredible Book!

The story is timeless. Yes, the persecution of Christians still goes on, not only in China where this book is set, but also in America.. :-( Walk closely with the Lord, and don't be ashamed! Great narrator, music and special effects! :-) This was my third time listening to this book. Enjoy!

Will this be the day that I die?

This book is excellent, and like all excellent books it is worth listening to, or reading, again. The narrator, or narrators, do an excellent job with different voices for the characters. This book left me with two major impressions:

One was the importance of laying up treasures in heaven instead of worrying about earthly treasures. The other impression this book left me with was the possiblity that if I die of a heart attack, cancer, accident, etc. that I might actually question God, why I was not so fortunate as to have the opportunity to be be put to death for my faith in Him.

I thought this book was purely fiction, but my minister said that it is based on a true story.

This is among the best books I have ever listened to or read - it does a superb job of showing how to live our earthly life with an eternal perspective.

Safely Home

This story starts off slow and then captivates you with moral twists and turns. You really get a feel for the perscuted Christians in China.

Alcorn does a great job of weaving in truths and apologetic and chinese Chistian proverbs.
My favorite proverb in the the book is: " Real gold fears no fire."

Set back and step into the lives of to college friends that impact each other in very different ways and differently at various seasons of their lives.

Absolutely WONDERFUL!!!

This book is so well written and the performance of the reader is equally as great. I planned on listening to a chapter or two and ended up listening to the entire book in one evening. I didn't want it to end.

A Merging of Cultures

Would you consider the audio edition of Safely Home to be better than the print version?

I think I would enjoy either one, because this is such a good book. The narrator in the audio was very expressive and did a great job of making you feel like you were there.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Safely Home?

Excellent gripping & encouraging novel.

This is one of the most gripping true to life novels I have ever read especially in light of my being a Christian believer. However, I highly recommend this to anyone interested in the tennants of the Christian Religion as it hits on all the key points of our faith.

Character development, dramatization, music and individual voices are top notch as Steve Sever is a master at presenting an amazing story written by Randy Alcorn. Once you get into the story a little bit you begin to be transformed directly into the locations as you experience the anguish and joys of the characters as they are developed through out their journey . The ending is incredible and my be a surprise to many who are unfamiliar with Randy Alcorn's work.

Randy Alcorn is an excellent writer and story teller and I recommend readers take a look at all of his offerings both in the audible and written formats.
