The FitzDeanes are wealthy. They have Ballyford Castle in Ireland and a growing shipping business in Liverpool, but a previous generation made a terrible mistake and now there are whispers that the family is cursed, unable to produce a living heir.
When young Ruby Flynn arrives to work at Ballyford, rumours start swirling around this beautiful girl with a mysterious past. Who is she really? And what will her arrival mean for this powerful family divided by tragedy?

Really enjoyed the story had to keep on listening till finished. onother great book by Nadine Dorries.wonderfully narrated by Noreen Leighton.
"brilliant book just wish it had been longer"
Excellent narration. Great story reminds me of Downton Abbey. I just wish the story was longer and the author went into each of the characters lives more. Pity as there is so much scope to make the book longer.
"A story that dragged"
Didn't really enjoy this book not up to authors usual standard too mills and boony
"I loved this book."
This is another wonderful offering from Nadine Nourishing. I wish they would create a filmplay based on this story.
