Publisher's summary

America's most hilarious sportsman returns with this collection of insights about youth, the great outdoors, and the philosophy of fileting fish. When best-selling author Patrick McManus looks at a subject, you're sure to come away with an outrageously new perspective.

In "Muldoon in Love" McManus examines how third-grade crushes can have a disastrous effect on show-and-tell. In "The Big Fix" he explores the insidious relationship between women and flat tires. In "What's in a Name, Moonbeam?" he welcomes into the world a new grandchi ... er ... a new small relative.

Norman Dietz's droll narration of these and two dozen more adventures by the author of How I Got This Way and The Night the Bear Ate Goombaw will have listeners - and maybe even a wolf or two - howling.

Laughed so hard I cried!

Where does Rubber Legs and White Tail-Hairs rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I was laughing so hard at work in the service area that I had to turn off my iPod because customers out front thought I had lost my mind! Fun!

well, I love McManus

McManus is a longtime favorite of mine. I came into contact with him through my mother and father who read the outdoor life articles and chuckled hilariously. being a self-taught woodsman myself, I always enjoy how comical is tales of woe with hunting and fishing are

McManus again delights with his trademark wit

Patrick McManus is, in my mind, a national treasure. These collections of stories are a guaranteed grin for hours on end. This collection is no exception. I cannot recommend it more highly.

My only question is why we have not seen this turned in to a TV show?

Buy the book if you enjoy laughing.

First McManus I ever read

My grandfather gave me this book years ago, and I have read everything McManus has written since. If you don't laugh, you may be in serious trouble...

I LOVE these books!

I have read/listened to EVERY one of Patrick F. Mcmanus' books several times! The stories never get old. It is good, clean humor that my sons and I have enjoyed together for years! if you like fishing, hunting, camping, basically any outdoor stuff, you will love these too. I wish he was still around to give us more...The world lost a truly funny man and national treasure when he passed. The Narrator Norman Dietz, IS the voice of Patrick McManus and all his hapless characters, especially Rancid Crabtree, my favorite! No one else should even try! Absolutely recommend every book!

Brings back so many memories

When I was a kid my uncle used to read these stories to the whole family. Lots of amazing memories. Patrick’s sense of humour is amazing, not many writers like him anymore. Really love all the books he has written. Definitely recommend them all.

Contents may cause explosive laughter

This title (and probably all of Mr. McManus' humorous works) should have a warning label. I believe I injured myself laughing.

If you have ever been, or known, an avid outdoors enthusiast, or if you grew up in the country, or wished that you did, you will enjoy this book.
