Well Written, Great Fun

I liked this audio book. The narrator, who also starred in the movie, does a great job. The story is 70's horror fun. Well written. Story about a witches coven living in an apartment building and they want Rosemary's baby. You've probably seen the old movie but the book is much better. Spooky and a little weird and good listen!!!!!!

chilling and creepy!

I loved the way the built suspense through the story as the hapless Rosemary seems to play right into the hands of her diabolical husband and neighbors. Kept me guessing right until the end.

The perfect way to experience Rosemary’s Baby

There is absolutely no better person on the planet to narrate this classic and chilling story. Mia Farrow’s performance left me with chills! The impact and importance of this story on modern horror cannot be understated. This is the best way to experience a true staple of the horror genre. Hail Rosemary!

…The Year Is One…

Upon completion of reading this book, I have decided that Rosemary’s Baby by Ira Levin takes a deserved spot on my all-time favorite book list! Levin’s writing style puts you in Rosemary’s shoes throughout the work, gradually unraveling the plot set against her. He uses average, mundane characters hiding a sinister background to move the story further making the reader question reality at some points. The book deals with some heavier topics for that time like spousal rape, gaslighting, and patriarchal authority (as well as the whole witch/satanism aspects). I am also surprised as to how well the Roman Polanski film was true to the original text. With that in mind, Mia Farrow was absolutely perfect narrating this book! That decision was totally on-spot and I commend the audiobook publisher for that. Thank you for the entertainment!

Excellent reading of a classic

This audiobook is even better than the movie and even more enjoyable for being read by Mia Farrow.

Excellent!!!

I loved watching the movie, "Rosemary's Baby," with Mia Farrow, but it was an extra added treat to have Mia narrate the story. I LOVED Mia's performance, just as I enjoyed her in the movie.

This is definitely worth adding to the library.

Was there ever a more ignorant main character?

I first read Rosemary's Baby in the '70s. I saw the movie, too. This was the first time I'd listened to it. Mia Farrow was an excellent narrator. Her voice has changed little since she played Rosemary In the old movie. Then, as now, I could hardly tolerate the dimwitted Rosemary. However, her weakness leads really right in to the twist at the end.

A Must Read for Feminists and Psychodrama Fans

If you could sum up Rosemary's Baby in three words, what would they be?

Original Demon Baby.

Which character – as performed by Mia Farrow – was your favorite?

Rosemary is easily my favorite character. She's written as such an interesting and normal woman, she's easily empathized with and, as a result, is a well-written baseline for the story. Mia Farrow breathes the same life into Rosemary as she did in the films, and it was quite wonderful to have her as the narrator.

Classic

Great read. Watched the movie right after listening to the book and they were both almost identical.
