    "Wonderful Book..."

I read this book for free on my Kindle and LOVED it. I was very surprised when I went to purchase the audio version for my husband that it wasn't out yet the book had not even been released yet. So I finally got the audio version and what a treat it was James L Rubart did a wonderful job narrating as well. If you love God you will enjoy this Novel very much!

    "Thoroughly enjoyable"
What made the experience of listening to Rooms the most enjoyable?

The anticipation of what would happen next kept me from wanting to put it down

What did you like best about this story?

The consequences to the main character's choices were very significant. Our choices in this life don't always impact the way his did.

Have you listened to any of James L. Rubart’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've not listened to any of J L Rubart's other performances.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Several moments in the book moved me. The appearance of the rooms always made me sit on the edge of my seat

I love to be totally immersed in a good story. I love the thrill of the middle of a great book. Thinking about it all day... wondering what will happen and then enjoying the conclusion. Nothing frustrates me more than an author who weaves an intense story line, builds interesting characters and then dumps me into despair by ending it all abruptly. Just hate that. I relish the "ahhhhh" at the end of a great story.

    "Very Unsatisfying Read"
    What disappointed you about Rooms?

This book was so disappointing. It was some sort of Allegorical Read but felt like he was trying to copy THE SHACK. It was long... boring and really preachy. I get was he was trying to communicate but whoa.... it did me in. I decided I would finish it to the end and so I did but it left me with a big disappointing taste.

Would you ever listen to anything by James L. Rubart again?

    NO

"I couldn't even get through the fist few chapters"

This was Awful!! If I wanted a religious book, I would have downloaded one. I was looking for a good mystery/thriller. I had just finished Bad Blood by John Sanford and was hoping to find something at least half as interesting. Instead I get this awful story. It was promoted as a mystery but is definitely a religious "mystery" and not very mysterious at that. I erased it from my MP3 after reading chapter 14. If I wanted to be preached to by a religious fanatic, I would have gone to church, There;s nothing wrong with that, but it's now what I want to spend my credits on. Audible should change the description and refund our credit for letting us get stuck with this one!!!!!!!

    "Duped by the synopsis"

After I had been listening to "Rooms" for an hour and a half, I went back to the synopsis to see if I had misread anything. From the description, I was expecting some kind of mystery or thriller. Instead I was listening to a book that should be described as religious fiction. This is not a problem in itself, but it was also tedious and just not gripping my attention at all. The characters are two dimensional and the description of his issues is clumsy. If the book had been described properly, I would have saved myself the credit.

    "mislead"

I also thought this was a "thiller" given the synopsis. It should be under the catagory of "Religious Fiction" (if there is such a catagory). There is very little suspense. I kept wondering why the main character didn't do a bit of reserch on his house, like "who built it?". It is just to "preachy" for me to enjoy...

    "Profound truth!"
Where does Rooms rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of the best books ....

What did you like best about this story?

This author uses fiction to weave a story that tell truth of the heart, desire, surrender and deception of our human heart. I loved the outcome of the Glory of Gods profound work in our heart but also the importance of how God gives us free will to choose our destiny!!

    Any additional comments?

Highly recommend this book to anyone who desires to understand the truth of our inner voice and our heart!

    "VERY misleading summary of story"

If you're looking for a book on religion, this one is for you. Thought I was getting a suspense novel. Not even sure how it turned out. I had to turn it off after 20 minutes. I'm very disappointed that I wasted a credit on this.

    "Rooms"

Worst written book I have ever listened to. If the book was suppose to make me reflect on my own life it did... It made me wonder why I was wasting my time putting my ear buds in my ears.

    "Heaven's above"

I have listened to both of Rubart's books on Audible now and have to say the the Christians will love this book. I do not feel though that his writings are preaching, quite the opposite they are quite uplifting although a little corny in some, but only some, places. The actual stories, without the God part make for very good and quite original stories. Definately worth listening to. My only gripe; the author really should have let someone else read his books.
