The brooding hero, gypsy Jake Lovell, under whose magic hands the most difficult horse or woman becomes biddable, is driven to the top by his loathing of the darling of the show ring, Rupert Campbell-Black.
Having filched each other’s horses, and fought and fornicated their way around the capitals of Europe, the feud between the two men finally erupts with devastating consequences at the Los Angeles Olympics.

Hot romance/Sci Fi we're so lucky to have Audible to feed our book addictions. I love walking my precious dog Sydney & listening to my books
Love this book, full of horses, lust and intrigue. A must read for all. Most enjoyable.
This series of Jilly Cooper books is my guilty pleasure and I'm delighted to find Riders on audible. I'm loving it! I find the narrator very easy to listen to and her pace of reading is spot on. I'm very pleased this book is unabridged, while long at 30 hours it's great value with an audible membership - I just hope others like Polo, Rivals and Apassionata will follow!
"Wonderful!!! Riders perfect:)"
Love Jilly Cooper and the first of her Rutshire Chronicles is FANTASTIC:) I have long been a lover of Jilly's books and to be able to get this in digital audiobook format is a long awaited treat... BUT WHERE ARE THE REST? THERE ARE SO MANY MORE!!!! Please audible lets get going on this, get ALL of the chronicles, PLEASE NOW! Yours impatiently Jess x
I could not stop listening to this - any opportunity I got to stick my headphones in! Having read a couple of the books from this series I am now dying to listen to them all in order. The narrator was great, great pace and characterisations.
I read this when I was in high school, about 17 years ago. I loved it then, and it was so wonderful to go back and listen to it again! I love the story, though sometimes a few too many one liners and quips, but otherwise just brilliant! Follows the road to the Olympics for the British show jumping team, with lots of up, downs, backstabbing and randy adventures along the way! Fingers crossed Polo will be made in to an audiobook soon - that was my favourite Jilly Cooper!!!
Riders gearing up for the Olympics have numerous romantic, well, more lusty, encounters as everyone finds it hard to stay faithful!
A good book but too many sexual scenes!...there are loads as the book goes on. Slightly slow to get into it but as it progresses, the story line gets better and better. The narrator is also good but as I said, it would have been better if I didn't have to turn it off/down on almost every chapter whilst the kids were about!
"Riders by Jilly cooper"
Loved this book and would recommend it to anyone. Very well written, it really got to me; I could not stop listening. Well done Ms. Cooper
"Vintage Jilly Cooper!"
Wow, this audio book was so good! Obviously light hearted - great to listen to on the journeys to & from work.
It's classic Jilly Cooper - if you've read any of her books & liked them, you'll love this audio book - extremely well read!
"So easy to fall in love with the characters"
I have read this book before and thought I would see how it faired as an audio book; I was not disappointed!
For the majority of the time the narration was great BUT at times the poor American accents grated on me & I often wished she had just given the characters of Helen & Deano a normal accent! However this is only a minor grumble!
Loved it & do recommend!
An excellent book to listen to. Well narrated, and spoken in a justified pace and tone. Full of adventure, pettiness, scandal and quite a lot of controversy. Worth a read!
