Publisher's summary

In the second e-novella in Molly Harper’s Bluegrass series of contemporary romances, two people determined to fulfill their own agendas come head to head—and find love in the process.

Kentucky Tourism Commission employee Bonnie Turkle is up Mud Creek without a paddle. When she gets permission from the state historical society to restore McBride’s Music Hall in Mud Creek, Kentucky, to its former glory, she thinks the community will welcome her with open arms. Instead, her plans interfere with a proposal to sell the property to a factory that would bring much-needed jobs to the town.

Even though Bonnie is trying to preserve mayor Will McBride’s family heritage, he is more concerned with the welfare of his people than memories of the past. Will finds her optimistic sentimentality extremely annoying—but that doesn’t stop him from kissing Bonnie senseless.

With an inspection deadline looming and local saboteurs ruining her restoration, Bonnie must find a way to compromise with Will to save McBride’s and the town…while hopefully winning a few more kisses in the process!

Brief remarks:

My I just beginny saying, I think Amanda Ronconi is one of, if not THE, BEST narrators in the business?! I buy books because she is reading them, at times!

As this story opens with our female "lead" and a car fire, I was already worried about boredom setting in. I am NOT a history fan. AT. ALL. In ANY way shape form it format. I admit this because the basic premise if this story is built upon restoring some significant music history in a super small Kentucky town . I started my yawn only to be interrupted by the hot save-the-lady "lead" dude. Hello, "trademark panty dropping smiles". *fist pump*! Does Ms. Harper know her readers, or what?! Lol

Seriously, I recommend sticking with the story as it gets interesting and has a really good twist to look forward to.

Light, uncomplicated, humorous at times & fun Molly Harper reading (listening)! She's sleaus worth my time ;)

Enjoy, fellow reader!

Cheers!

A wonderful Hallmark – taste novel

If you like Hallmark movies, you will love this story! I do love Hallmark, so I found the story to be charming and funny, and totally satisfied my sweet tooth. The characters were well developed, and the story was perfectly narrated.

too many Amanda Ronconi recordings!!!

Would you listen to Rhythm and Bluegrass again? Why?

yes...very enjoyable story

Any additional comments?

The ONLY problem with this audio recording is that Amanda Ronconi has only one voice that she uses for all her main characters. Having just listened to "My Bluegrass Baby", I was utterly confused to hear the voice of Saddie now be Bonnie. The Molly Harper/Amanda Ronconi books are great on their own...yet they appear to be the exact same character when Amanda reads them.

Slow story line

I like the book because it contains some southern roots.

The book didn’t really pick up until it was almost over.

Fun Listen

I usually listen to mystery suspense thrillers heavy kinds of books and I wanted a change so I listened to Molly Harper's bluegrass series. I found it witty fun and would recommend it to anyone who wants to kind of cleanse their listening palate; a change of pace for just a little bit before getting back to your normal type of listening

Excellent, Fun, Entertaining!

What did you love best about Rhythm and Bluegrass?

The humor Molly Harper infuses into the entire story.

What other book might you compare Rhythm and Bluegrass to and why?

Except that this book is written in first person there are aspects of it that remind me of some of Nora Roberts earlier books. Her dialogue and her ability to make me feel truly sad or laugh out loud. All very similar to some Nora Roberts books.

Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. She is always very good.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I just about did, actually.

Any additional comments?

Fun story. Great characters. This is a good book to listen to when you are looking for a an easy story that is really, really good but is not going to leave you gripping the edge of your seat the whole time.

good story

the overall story was good, interesting historical references but the relationship fell flat for me. There was not really any resolution for Will's actions towards Bonnie besides her just taking on the responsibility as if she deserved it and that making his actions okay. This specific part made it hard to enjoy the rest of the story for me. Depending on your personal views this could be a bigger or smaller issue. I'm more inclined to be partial towards strong FMCs who will stand up for themselves so I think this bothered me more than it would the average person. As always, narrator was great and there were some great laugh out loud moments.

Harper is Hilarious

Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Amanda Ronconi is my FAVORITE NARRATOR, hands down. Authors have to love her for delivering the full intent behind their words, whether they be sarcastic, witty, lusty, emphatic, demanding, you name it. I would never have thought I'd pick books based on the author, but if it's Amanda, I'll always give it a try. She hasn't let me down yet!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Molly Harper's main characters never fail to be witty, snarky, quirky and lovable. Her books constantly make me laugh, snort and spit out my coffee. Oh and her romance also rocks. Keep them coming Molly!!! PLEASE
