Narrator Alan King's performance of these four stories is suffused with verve and clear amusement, and his versatility with voices adds even more layers of entertainment. King infuses fun into the The Mad Goat Mystery when the Wilkinson family's new goat goes berserk, and he gives Yeng, a Zontoan from planet Zing a suitably alien, robotic cadence before he impersonates a handsome human in Spaceman Bill. King also creates a thrilling buildup for the events in Croc on the Loose when the baby crocodile Sam finds ends up in the headmaster's fish pond, and in Time Turns on Spooky Hill, King's carefully-paced narration adds to the wonder as two boys find themselves travelling back in time.
