Publisher's summary

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and its prequel, Dawn of the Dreadfuls, were both New York Times best sellers, with a combined 1.3 million copies in print. Now the PPZ trilogy comes to a thrilling conclusion with Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dreadfully Ever After.

The story opens with our newly married protagonists, Elizabeth and Fitzwilliam Darcy, defending their village from an army of flesh-eating unmentionables. But the honeymoon has barely begun when poor Mr. Darcy is nipped by a rampaging dreadful. Elizabeth knows the proper course of action is to promptly behead her husband (and then burn the corpse, just to be safe). But when she learns of a miracle antidote under development in London, she realizes there may be one last chance to save her true love - and for everyone to live happily ever after.

Best of the Series

The narration was GREAT! I couldn't stop listening. I don't know that I would have actually read it with the same perspective. The different characters came alive. Ending was a little abrupt and detracted from the overall experience.

Awesome addition to the series

I really enjoyed the first book, Pride & Prejudice & Zombies, and was worried that this third book couldn't live up to its humor & originality. I was pleasantly proved wrong, and actually enjoyed this book as much as I did the original. Having read the other two novels in this series (or rather, listened to them), the characters are fully formed in my mind, and this continuation of their struggles against the dreadfuls was very well done.

Katherine Kellgren did an excellent narration - her voices for the individual characters were "spot-on" and never overdone, and I felt she really came into her element in this story. I was very impressed with her timing and her tone - she conveyed the obvious humor perfectly. At one point in the story, a character pops into the scene by talking first - and the reader knows exactly which character it is by Ms. Kellgren's performance. I honestly enjoyed the narration as much as the book itself.

I highly recommend this book, especially if you enjoyed the first one!

A nice conclusion

Where does Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dreadfully Ever After rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It isn't my favorite audiobook, but it was definitely enjoyable.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked that characters from the previous PPZ books (particularly Kitty and Mary) who didn't have a whole lot of development got to play a bigger role in this book. It fleshed out the story quite a bit more. Also, there wasn't a lot of Lydia, which I think everyone can agree is a good thing.

Have you listened to any of Katherine Kellgren’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, I haven't listened to any of her other performances.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It was quite long, so no, but I didn't get bored with it.

Any additional comments?

This wasn't as good as the original PPZ, but I did like it better than Dawn of the Dreadfuls.

Top of my list

Oh, this awesome book will definitely have a place in my top books. The narrator is simply fantastic, she should teach classes because I haven’t heard anyone is spectaculars her in a long time. The story is great, I loved the subplots and getting to know kitty and Mary.
