Nia Simone Bijou is a woman who has it all - and is driven by the desire for more. Born in Trinidad, reared in Los Angeles, living in Atlanta, Nia is a writer, a thinker, and a woman in conflict. She's dealing with two sides of her Gemini self, feeling as if there are two women living inside her, both struggling for domination.
One side of Nia is a logical yet heartbroken person who has never let go of an old pain. The other side is a sensual woman who will not let her rest, desiring intimacy and sexual freedom, demanding pleasure.
In the sweltering heat of July, loneliness, desire, and a struggle with both the sensual self and fantasy inspire Nia to become sexually adventurous, meeting lovers who arouse her in diverse ways, lovers who give her unimaginable experiences, generous lovers who desire to please her as much as she desires to satisfy them. Fantasies spiral out of control, and with her life on the line, Nia discovers that pleasure does not come without pain.
Filled with passion, populated with characters that are sexually uninhibited, Pleasure is an unforgettable journey into a free-spirited world.

"Susan Spain's emotionally nuanced reading successfully translates the book to audio format." (Library Journal)
This was the 1st audiobook I've listened to and I'm so glad that I chose this one as my first. I have a hard copy of the book and for some reason could not make it past Chapter 2 after multiple attempts.....but I started listening to the audio version and was finished in 2 days because I couldn't bear to turn it off!!
The scenes between Nia and her "identical sins" The ways she describes what they all do for each other both mentally and physically.
I like the way she's able to take on all the different accents of the characters and how she can speak Nia's thoughts in her moments of passion. It was different from when she was speaking for Nia out loud.
The meetings between Nia and her Identical Sins for sure...hard to say without giving anything away...the only thing is I wish the ending was different but that's just because I hate for a good story to end.
The text is bit lengthy but it leaves no thought to the imagination. It is a sex story where a woman is honest to her desires while finding herself and I loved it. I've heard some say its pure porn and maybe so but the story is intense and erotic and left me on edge every step of the way
Sexy, Stimulating, Passionate!
Unlike it's follow up Decadence, the plot was well thought out. And the eroticism wasn't overkill or raunchy.
Her voice was perfect for telling this story! Liked how she changed up her voice for the different characters. And when it got to funny moments in the story, she was right on point with her expressions and emphasis.
Oh the sexy twins for sure! I would need both just like Nia...LOL
I wasn't expecting erotic when I purchased this, but I was pleasantly surprised. Now I need more!
Loved all of it.
When Nia was with both of the brothers.
The brothers cause they both were SEXY & HOT!!!
Just reading the reviews I was a little leery about getting the book but, I'm glad I did. I like to read reviews & go off of them but, this is one book I'm glad I decided to order it & not go off the mixed reviews. This is one of the best stories I have listened to in a while.
I guess the ending could have been better,
I've read better from him
She was ok her lisp was working my nerves
Omg yes he never Said what happens to nia, the twins, kiki.
This book took me into a world of realistic fantasy....Nia did things that men do all the time and most women wish they could....the more I listened the more I wanted to know about her and her twin sins....
I am looking for more books like this, page turning/ear grabbing...I love the graphic details
The narrator was EXTREMELY monotone...made the book have a slow start....wish I could have narrated it myself......I am gonna steer clear of books narrated by her
All of the characters were....Nia, Mark, Karl, Kiki, & Jewel...its obvious, but I can't give the book away
I wish there was a different ending or perhaps a sequel can give us another look into the lives of Nia, Mark, Karl, & Jewel
Not a bad story but to much un-need chatter. Would have like to know what was going on in the men lives as the story unfold.
the extra chatter about nothing
Usually love books by Mr. Dickey, but he goes too much into detail on everything. He drags the scenes out. Wish I would have read the other reviews first. Going to try to finish the book, but only on Chapter 4 and I am ready to pull my hair out. As another patron stated, she wanted Nia to just fall off the mountain during chapter 3.
Don't let the snippet turn you off. It's a really detailed book, by the second chapter you might get a little numb at the over sensitized visuals and words—but you get used to it FAST. It took my mind on a deep journey through the character's lives and thoughts. It twisted and turned in my head causing me to not put my ipod down! This is a must read. I can't wait to read more from this author.
