I liked it even better than the first installment

I put off reading the second chapter in the trilogy because I thought I would just be a repeat of the first. While the plotting is similar and the characters are up to their usual blunders, I actually enjoyed it more than the first. A very well-constructed story with likeable characters.

I Love the "Voice" the Author Uses

I found myself chuckling or laughing out loud while listening to this book. I read the first Jimmy vietor book but listened to the second. I didn't remember the first being as funny in the dialogue. I do wish they would cut down a bit on the profanity but understand it adds to the personality of the characters. I really like the relationship and interaction between Jimmy and his old friend Tommy. The story told is well-crafted and semi believable. The dialogue between Jimmy and Bobby is absolutely hilarious most of the time.

Art of Swearing

Same characters from "Dove Season", but different adventure. One of the guy's daughter is bum fighting and gone missing. I laughed out loud at the first paragraph. "Plaster City" is what I was hoping for after "Dove Season." The book is not a sequel from "Dove Season", but I highly recommend the previous book before starting "Plaster City." Both books are downright funny with foul language, crude jokes and yet clever.

Johnny Shaw is not a poet or will ever write something substantial to win the Pulitzer. He is an author for people who wants to be entertain with crude humor and language that we all use. I found Shaw to be funny and witty with each of his screw up characters.

There are a few reviews that I've read that "Plaster City" is pointless and fill with the "F" bombs. True, but these critics doesn't get the jokes from Shaw. I don't like stand-up comedy because most of their monologues are in bad taste. Most comedians use way more curse words in an hour than Johnny Shaw does in his books.

There are some great jokes in "Plaster City." It's a must read after "Dove Season." I really like Shaw's dialogues because that is how most of us talks when we are relaxing.

For someone that like this author, you have to like the art of swearing in a clever way.

Can't wait for more from the Fiasco's series.

Loved it, despite not being my usual genre

Would you consider the audio edition of Plaster City to be better than the print version?

Yes! The narration is excellent!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Plaster City?

Jimmy puts his own sheets on the hotel bed. Bobby goes on a tirade about germs being innocuous, and claiming he needs e-coli in his food, for flavor.

What does Scott Merriman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Scott Merriman truly brings these characters to life. In fact, I listened to "Dove Season," which was narrated by a different person, and (meaning no disrespect to the other narrator) it just wasn't the same. Merriman owns Bobby's voice, especially.

If you could take any character from Plaster City out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Bobby! But it have to be a bar and grill. Anything fancier than that, and he'll get kicked out for lewd behavior before he's seated.

Any additional comments?

This isn't my typical genre, but it was available through Kindle Unlimited, so I gave it a try. To be sure, it's a relatively vulgar book, but it's always situation appropriate, and often it seemed to mock vulgarity, via vulgarity. Also, I'd love to hear "Dove Season" narrated by Merriman.

Just a Fiasco

A sad and unfortunately somewhat believable account of what one would expect when two ignorant, stupid and thoughtless fools attempt to solve their problems with fighting, alcohol and creative but overbearing use of the F word. It was way over priced as a free kindle book, the whispersync price of $1.99 increased the pain somewhat.
