V. C. Andrews gained national fame with Flowers in the Attic, the chilling tale of four young children locked away by their ruthless grandmother. Now, with over 38 million copies of her sensational thrillers in print, V. C. Andrews continues to be a household name even after her death.
After several terrifying years of captivity, the three surviving Dollanganger children have found a way to escape their prison, but they have been scarred forever. Petals on the Wind follows these children into adulthood. Although they find success and fame, they are led deeper into the curse that still haunts their family. As the three struggle to lead normal lives, revenge draws them back to the one who turned the key in the lock so long ago. While the tension grows to a fever pitch, Petals on the Wind moves toward a searing conclusion.

Well-spent? Hmm....I'm sure I'd be a better person if I had read something more "wholesome" ha ha.
I'd love to hear the rest of the series if they got the same narrator. And My Sweet Audrina, which is the craziest, most f***ed up of all her books.
Her narration is what made this audible book great. Cause the book itself is pretty bad. But somehow she made the melodrama and flowery purple prose deliciously entertaining.
I cannot believe my friends and I read all of these books in junior high. Our mothers obviously had no idea what they were about!
I enjoyed this book like I enjoy eating a whole bag of Doritos. It was good in the moment, but afterwards left me feeling ashamed and a little nauseated.
I Love a great supernatural tale, a Love story, PNR, a Cool Mystery and Most Sci-Fi....if there are vampires, weres or witches in it, that's a plus! Basically I am a 40+ y/o young at heart woman rediscovering the wonderful world of books and am now addicted! Lol I LOVE AUDIBLE!!!!!
revenge, greed, sadness...
Cathy of course....its her story....but all the characters are noteworthy...
I like them all...and sometimes hate them all too...
This is a strange question... Considering the book, it is hard to choose....
I wish Audible had the rest of this series...I think many people should hear this story, and count there blessings everyday...
Audible format takes these books and makes them more enjoyable. Books don't have tones or attitudes in them like a book being read. You feel a real connect to the situation they are living. You get a better understanding of how and why they do the things they do. You can feel how their relationships really are.
Anything that V.C. Andrews wrote her self.
I have not. Although she does a great job.
This book made me cry several times. It tears your heart out. You feel their pain.
Again I would love it, if they continued to convert her older books to Audible format.
This book follows flowers in the attic and it is without a doubt the best of the 3 I listen to. All through these books I noticed that incest was made to look " normal" IT IS NOT! as traumatized as these characters were they should have NEVER allow this to happen. NO EXCUSES!!
I didn't want it to end. I wish Audible had the third book. "If There Be Thorns. "
Read book one first and book two will be more engaging. Love the narrator too.
Kathy of course but they are all well established.
Yes in Flowers in the attic.
The final revenge was worth waiting for.
Its a nice sequel, continuing the storyline smoothly. It is frustrating, though, because very few characters, if any, have good sense! Characters continue to willingly suffer, and willingly causes those around them to suffer. This story is filled with selfish, poor decisions. And are we to believe that men will put up with anything for a beautiful woman?! And why does everyone in this world, particularly men, fall desperately in love at first sight?
I almost didn't get this book because I saw a review that said it was boring. I'm so happy I didn't let it persuade me. If you loved Flowers in the Attic you NEED to get this book. It closes everything you've wondered and it's narrated so well.
