Publisher's summary

Waverly Bryson is a successful businesswoman in her late 20s who almost has it all: a dream job in sports PR, two best friends, and a bar where everybody knows her name. What she doesn’t have is a ring on her finger. And after being ditched at the altar, she’s in no hurry to get one. Besides, plenty of other issues keep her busy, including her wayward father, a new rival at work, and an ever-nagging fear that her life is not turning out as she thought it would...or should.

To stay sane, Waverly makes a habit of jotting down “Honey Notes”, self-deprecating bitsof single-girl humor that she hopes to one day develop into a line of greeting cards: "Can’t face the dating scene after a bad breakup? Honey, hit the bar, and hit it hard. Beer goggles are the lonely girl’s Cupid."

As Waverly stumbles back into the dating scene (no stalkers or jean shorts, please), her personal and professional lives threaten to collide. Perfect on Paper reminds listeners that everyone has had a bad date (or 12), and that everyone needs a best friend to tell them, “Honey, you are not alone.”

A Fun, Lighthearted, Enjoyable Read

I read this book at a point in my life when I needed a bit of laughter. It was an easy, fun read but it didn't get me so engrossed that I couldn't put the book down. I needed something I could read, put it down, and pick it up again in a few days. This was perfectly that way. I loved the evolution of Waverly as she goes through the book. A great read for anyone wanting to smile, laugh, and connect with their own mis-adventures.

Cute story

This story is cute, perfect for listening while working. A lot of things are super repetitive and the characters are pretty flat. The reader was great, though and the book is overall pretty cute.

Light Romance, feel good.......

What did you like best about Perfect on Paper? What did you like least?

I liked the main character's self deprecating self talk. The characters are not too deep or developed, but likable.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Not sure

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

She did a good job.

Was Perfect on Paper worth the listening time?

Yes, it was a good light read.

Great Story

This had a great storyline. I was not a fan of the male voices, they seemed a little silly. But the female narrator was great! Would have had actual guys do the male parts.

Just ok...

I like fluff but this did not grab me. Too slow at start and by the time it got to be interesting I was already frustrated.

Enjoyable

Would you consider the audio edition of Perfect on Paper to be better than the print version?

didn't read the print, but really enjoyed the audio version

Who was your favorite character and why?

Waverly, she always got herself into a situation and how she got out of it or what she did as a result of it made me laugh out loud a few times. Her honey do notes were an additional source of entertainment.

Any additional comments?

this was a very fun book and halfway through listening to it i had to go out and get the rest of the series. it is a very lighthearted romantic comedy that had very likeable characters and some characters that we have all encountered in our lives and prejudged just to find out they weren't really what we had made them out to be. if you are looking for a quick read that causes you to have some laugh out loud moments all tied up into a romance, then this is the book for you.

Cute but sophomoric

This was a pretty good attempt at a sympathetic, fumbling, self-effacing character, but just missed the mark. The distractions of the constant "no way!" "Way!", "no way!", "way!", and the interjections of "I said", "she said", "he said" were distracting. The book tried to create a Sophie Kinsella type of character, but didn't quite have the same result. Waverly was not as likable or sympathetic. A fun read, but a predictable ending, and annoying rinkydink dialogue.
