It is 1946, and the whole country is shocked by the disappearance of a young woman who, according to a note found at the scene of the crime, is the victim of a certain 'Mr Gregory'. When a second girl disappears, Sir Graham Forbes of Scotland Yard appeals to Temple and Steve for help. Their investigations take them from a lonely Yorkshire clifftop to the Blitz-damaged East End, from a gangster-run Mayfair nightclub to a deserted warehouse on the Thames, always with danger round the corner.

I've listened to several Paul Temple radio dramas. This entry includes all the usual (and fun) ingredients: Multiple suspects. Lots of plot twists. A party at the end to expose the killer.
There is not much realism here. What is there is a well produced, well acted, entertaining radio show. Enjoy!
"Another winner from Francis Durbridge."
The fact that the last episode was played after the first episode. Had I not realized the whole mystery would have been ruined.
"Another classic adventure for Paul and Steve"
A lovely modern cast recording of a classic radio serial. Peter Coke and Marjorie Westbury will always be my favourites, but it's great to have a new adventure to listen to. The sound effects and the scripts are original, with just the cast being new.
The story is the only one so far to have 10 episodes instead of the usual 8, so it can seem to drag a bit, but the action is there and the plot keeps you guessing as to the identity of 'Mr Gregory'.
It's worth noting that the episodes aren't in the right order. The last episode has ended up after the first episode (i.e. number 10 listed as number 2), with the episodes then being in the proper order. So if you don't want to know who Gregory is, skip episode 2 and return to it last.
"great story, shame episodes aren't in order"
Great story always something different on each listen
all of it
takes you back to a bygone age
episode 10 comes after 1!
