I work to keep my reviews free of plot spoilers. I hate reviews that tell you the whole story. That said, I do love reading reviews!

I love this series of books and enjoy these positive stories. John McDonough once again brought Fr Tim and all the Mitford crowd to life beautifully. A pleasure.

    "wonderful narration, horrible editing"

John McDonough brings the Mitford series to life with his rich and engaging narration. I have enjoyed this and each previous recording in the collection. My only complaint is the editing, which often jumps from one paragraph to the next without a pause jarring you from the flow of the narration.

    "A Must read Series"

I love all of Jan Karon's books in this series. I have read all of then at least 3 times and listened to them on audio once or twice. Heaven will be just like Mitford- with out the pain of course. Perfection

"habit forming One must keep up with the story"
Would you listen to Out to Canaan again? Why?

Yes I have more than 3 times

What was one of the most memorable moments of Out to Canaan?

Understanding Father Tim's upcoming retirement and understanding is on off feelings about it

What does John McDonough bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    A familiar voice

If you could rename Out to Canaan, what would you call it?

    I wouldn't

    Any additional comments?

I have followed Jan Karon's Father Tim series and I feel comfortable with the stories. I have reread them all. I didn't like the change of the narrator in the next series so I only listen twice to them. One gets comfortable with the narrator even though he might not be the best

    "You'll love these books"

Hope and human fraility are shown in the lives of the characters. Father Tim and his neighbors represent the good and bad in each of us and leave listener/readers feeling salvageable, despite all our weaknesses.
