So when her employers invite her to attend a conference with them in the South of France, she can't believe her luck: the chance to hob nob with the rich and glamorous, to party under the stars, to live the life she's dreamed about. It's certainly the holiday of a lifetime - but not quite in the way Evie imagined!

"Colgan at her warm, down-to-earth best." (Cosmopolitan)
"Fast-paced, funny, poignant and well observed." (Daily Mail)
"This is chick-lit with an ethical kick." (Mirror)
I was initially put off by the other reviews, but decided to give it a try anyway, because I like the author. True to form, Colgan wrote an entertaining, light and funny book. It's not great literature. It won't change your life. It's like ear candy. (I didn't mind the narrator at all.)
This book was hilarious and captivating. The only downside was the reader. She seemed to be a 50-60 year old woman and the character was 27 so it felt off the whole time. It was harder to place the character. Probably would have enjoyed the book a ton more if I had read it instead of listened to it.
"It just didn't get better"
Having really enjoyed her other books I was really looking forward to this one. But it was very poor verging on dire. It just started off boring wit characters I didn't feel any empathy with and developed into pure farce. Waste of money frankly.
I downloaded this, having enjoyed another book by the same author, and was very disappointed. a series of caricatures in a setting which the author seemed to know little about. I could not finish it and regretted wasting my money.
