Publisher's summary

There's room at the inn. But you might not get out.

Nestled on a lonely stretch along the Pacific coast, quaint roadside outpost Harmony Corner offers everything a weary traveler needs - a cozy diner, a handy service station, a cluster of motel rooms...and the Harmony family homestead presiding over it all. But when Odd Thomas and company stop to spend the night, they discover that there’s more to this secluded haven than meets the eye - and that between life and death, there is something more frightening than either.

Great book!

I loved this book too! I wish Odd Thomas would never end! His ghost didn't help in this story but the computer made up for it. On to reading the next book. :)

The Odds are Good

Would you listen to Odd Interlude again? Why?

I will want to listen to this story again before I move on to the next Odd novel. (Yes, I am assuming there will be another one)

What did you like best about this story?

I am always delighted with Koontz's use of monologue to get the exposition out. Odd has a wonderful voice as does Jolie. I'm also a fan of Ed. I hope we get to meet Jolie and Ed again soon.

What does David Aaron Baker bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He's a wonderful Odd. Young and self-depreciating and funny and sorrowful in the perfect mix. I do wish he had given us a bit more differentiation between Odd and Jolie's voices though.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I chuckled a good bit. Although there were some very emotional (horrible) bits, I didn't cry.

Any additional comments?

It would have been nice to have a little more backstory on Odd's companion. She didn't really do much in this story, but references back to previous adventures had me scratching my head. (I really should have listened to Odd Apocalypse again before attempting this story). Overall, it was a fun and satisfying listen for me.

Worth the Wait

After this long pause between books, finally another exciting adventure for Odd Thomas.
Koontz is able to combine thrilling with funny and touching into such a winning combination every time. This book is no different. The end of each book leaves me wishing for more.

Another Besr

I thought that I had read Mr. Koontz's "best" Odd novel...that is until I read this one. Once again, I would gladly recommend the audiobook to anyone with the instruction to pay close attention and be prepared to be surprised. To me, this book is somehow different and scarier than the last few books. I can't quite put my finger on what it is but it leaves me totally unsettled. Perhaps it is the idea that the appears to be no safe haven.
I have sympathy for Odd, who has lost so much and of whom so much is asked. This poor young man is on a never-ending journey--being pulled from one disaster to the next by a force over which he has no control.
But I do have a little control so I moved right along to the next book In the series.
