Publisher's summary

Number-one best-selling author Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum novels are: "irresistible" (Houston Chronicle), "stunning" (Booklist), "outrageous" (Publishers Weekly), "brilliantly evocative" (The Denver Post), and "making trouble and winning hearts" (USA Today).

New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is certain of three truths: People don't just vanish into thin air. Never anger old people. And don't do what Tiki tells you to do.

After a slow summer of chasing low-level skips for her cousin Vinnie's bail bonds agency, Stephanie Plum finally lands an assignment that could put her checkbook back in the black. Geoffrey Cubbin, facing trial for embezzling millions from Trenton's premier assisted-living facility, has mysteriously vanished from the hospital after an emergency appendectomy. Now it's on Stephanie to track down the con man. Unfortunately, Cubbin has disappeared without a trace, a witness, or his money-hungry wife. Rumors are stirring that he must have had help with the daring escape...or that maybe he never made it out of his room alive.

Since the hospital staff's lips seem to be tighter than the security, and it's hard for Stephanie to blend in to assisted living, Stephanie's Grandma Mazur goes in undercover. But when a second felon goes missing from the same hospital, Stephanie is forced into working side by side with Trenton's hottest cop, Joe Morelli, in order to crack the case.

The real problem is, no Cubbin also means no way to pay the rent. Desperate for money - or maybe just desperate - Stephanie accepts a secondary job guarding her secretive and mouthwatering mentor Ranger from a deadly Special Forces adversary. While Stephanie is notorious for finding trouble, she may have found a little more than she bargained for this time around. Then again - a little food poisoning, some threatening notes, and a bridesmaid's dress with an excess of taffeta never killed anyone.... Or did they? If Stephanie Plum wants to bring in a paycheck, she'll have to remember: No guts, no glory.

Notorious Nineteen

I have listened to this before but I love it so much I wanted to hear it again. I was sorry to hear that Stephanie got Ranger’s food and Warren got sick also from poison. I can’t believe that the bad guy got blown up with a grenade, and Gordon was so mad that he shot tiki, but that’s probably what saved Stephanie‘s life from being burned to death. I absolutely loved all the drama. And especially when Lula said she was going to throw up and have diarrhea, I laughed so much at this. It was an amazing story with all the drama. And I love that those two eloped so Stephanie did not have to wear that dress. And then she sent Gordon and Tiki to Hawaii. Absolutely loved it.

My favorite narrator!

If you could sum up Notorious Nineteen in three words, what would they be?

I only LISTEN to Stephanie Plum books - I never read them because the narrator is perfect! After all these years, hers are the "real" voices for all my favoite charaters! This was another fun story full of adventure and very funny moments as we have all come to expect from the "numbers" series. Thanks to Lorelei King it was made even better!

Janet Evaniwich makes her characters come to life

What did you love best about Notorious Nineteen?

I have been reading JE's books for a few years now. If you've never read one, you should definitely start with the first one. And pay no attention to the movie.. Although they tried to do a good job, this is the kind of book series that a movie can never duplicate. Evanovich has created this set of amazing, fun characters, who you will become attached to and want to find out more about, Her story lines are great--and include alot of comedy. This is probably the only series of mystery books where I have actually laughed out loud multiple times. And the narrator, Lorelei King is also great, and I think has narrated all of JE's books. She does great different voices, and makes the story come to life. I promise you will not be disappointed with ANY if her Stephanie Plum books. I cant say the same for some of JE's other series she started writing--those are a little fluffy for me. But you can't go wrong with a Stephanie Plum novel.

Janet, you did it again!!!

What did you love best about Notorious Nineteen?

I love all about this newest edition to the Plum series. I can't wait for number 20??? Food poisoning, another car blown up and still Stephanie keeps her head up and keeps on trucking.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Notorious Nineteen?

Them stuffing poor Randy into the mail box.

What does Lorelei King bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Everything. I am a huge fan of Ms. King. her characters are spot on.

If you could take any character from Notorious Nineteen out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Hmmm, Lula. She is a complete hoot. I can't imagine a meal more full of tales and laughter. Can you?
