Publisher's summary

Number-one best-selling author Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum novels are: "irresistible" (Houston Chronicle), "stunning" (Booklist), "outrageous" (Publishers Weekly), "brilliantly evocative" (The Denver Post), and "making trouble and winning hearts" (USA Today).

New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is certain of three truths: People don't just vanish into thin air. Never anger old people. And don't do what Tiki tells you to do.

After a slow summer of chasing low-level skips for her cousin Vinnie's bail bonds agency, Stephanie Plum finally lands an assignment that could put her checkbook back in the black. Geoffrey Cubbin, facing trial for embezzling millions from Trenton's premier assisted-living facility, has mysteriously vanished from the hospital after an emergency appendectomy. Now it's on Stephanie to track down the con man. Unfortunately, Cubbin has disappeared without a trace, a witness, or his money-hungry wife. Rumors are stirring that he must have had help with the daring escape...or that maybe he never made it out of his room alive.

Since the hospital staff's lips seem to be tighter than the security, and it's hard for Stephanie to blend in to assisted living, Stephanie's Grandma Mazur goes in undercover. But when a second felon goes missing from the same hospital, Stephanie is forced into working side by side with Trenton's hottest cop, Joe Morelli, in order to crack the case.

The real problem is, no Cubbin also means no way to pay the rent. Desperate for money - or maybe just desperate - Stephanie accepts a secondary job guarding her secretive and mouthwatering mentor Ranger from a deadly Special Forces adversary. While Stephanie is notorious for finding trouble, she may have found a little more than she bargained for this time around. Then again - a little food poisoning, some threatening notes, and a bridesmaid's dress with an excess of taffeta never killed anyone.... Or did they? If Stephanie Plum wants to bring in a paycheck, she'll have to remember: No guts, no glory.

I totally love Stephanie Plum

When you are feeling bad about your life, give a listen to the Stephanie Plum series, it will instantly make you feel so much better! I love the narrator Lorelei King much better than CJ Critt who does the first 4 books. These books make me laugh out loud almost every single time I listen to them! I am working to collect them all, and of course I do have my favorites. I would recommend this book if you want something to laugh at or need a light hearted listen.

Reminded me of early Stephanie

Finally. Early Stephanie writing. I've been so annoyed at the last several books as the storyline was like a last minute thought.
This storyline was well thought out. It was more Stephanie and less Lulu. Equal parts Morelli and Ranger. Throw in a crazy person, a rocket launcher, grenades, a stoner skip, a Hawaiian artifact, a bridesmaid dress from hell, a little person and a retirement home and you get Stephanie's life. I do love the storylines with Morelli. I do love the storylines with Ranger. If she can't choose one then both men should just share. Now that would be a story.

Same old story, read well by King

Would you listen to Notorious Nineteen again? Why?

Probably not, even though it was a fun yarn it's not a book you would take more away from by listening to again.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

As much as I've enjoyed the Plum novels, they are quite a bit formulaic, and even though the "timeline" moves on (technology, events, etc) the characters never really do. It would be nice to see some actual consequences or progress, but hey, these are ment to be fun, not serious.

Which character – as performed by Lorelei King – was your favorite?

I like how Lorelei performs as Stephanie. I definitely enjoy her readings as apposed to the earlier novels reader, I can't even sit through those.

Any additional comments?

If you're following the novels and feel like listening, it's a fun mindless book to fill your time. Worth a credit.

Get's Better With Each New Book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. It is good light-hearted fun and completely entertaining

Who was your favorite character and why?

I end up liking them all. Each character is unique!

Have you listened to any of Lorelei King’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I love her range. She is one of the best narrators by far

If you could take any character from Notorious Nineteen out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Ranger. Do you really have to ask

Any additional comments?

I have not found any of Janet Evanovich's books lacking. I don't general enjoy this type of book, but was very pleasantly surprised with the authors sense of humor and imagination. Listening to her books is pure entertainment. I have listened to the entire series. Janet E. is the type of author who writes books that men should read. Joe and ranger know what a woman wants and needs

I’ve got to be fair. Who really deserve it.?5 Stars across the board!!!

I think that it’s safe to say that I love this combination of writing and performance. Consider all of the Stephanie Plum series to follow will be five stars across-the-board. Maybe a fourth thrown in to keep everybody honest.

It’s a fun read.

I think it is important to share our opinions about the things that we read. More importantly, why do we read them?
I read all kinds of stuff.
Finding Janet Ivanovic is Stephanie Plum, perform so perfectly by Laura lie King, has been a terrific, well constructed, cornucopia of suspense and intrigue wrapped up in a comedy that whisks me away for a time.

Not as good as some Plums

I stopped listening to another book to read a Stephanie Plum. I needed something light and funny and this story was the right fit. I did not care for Lorelei King’s performance. Her voice did not fit the characters. The story was not as good as many of the other Plumb books. But that will not keep from other books in the series. There are some laugh out loud areas in the book.

The performance makes the book!

What did you love best about Notorious Nineteen?

There are many laugh out loud moments in the series and this latest installment does not disappoint from that standpoint. If you are seeking the answer to that ultimate question: Cupcake or Babe.. keep looking.

Which character – as performed by Lorelei King – was your favorite?

Lorelei King's performances of Lula and Grandma Mazur just can't be beat.

Any additional comments?

Janet Evanovich is great at leaving the reader wanting more. This series is not ready to end as the characters still have much to tell us. Ranger is becoming more accessible and Joe more tolerant. How can a girl choose?

Stephanie Plum Keeps On Coming

I always enjoy listening to these books. Lorelei King is an amazing narrator. Very few narrators are in the same class that she is. Plus the books are always funny. Unfortunately, it's 19 versions of the same book. So while it's great fun and lots of laughter, there's nothing new there. So, if you're a Stephanie Plum fan, listen to the book and enjoy King's work but don't expect any great revelations.

I really liked the narrator. She did a great job voice changes were good. This was my first audible book of Plum series, and I actually really enjoyed it. Will probably do more.
