Publisher's summary

Rachel Gibson’s “eloquent prose” (Publishers Weekly) has earned the author a number of coveted awards, including the RITA, Golden Heart, and National Reader’s Choice. Nothing But Trouble features an injured, prickly Seattle Chinooks hockey player who is none too pleased to be bedridden. Taking on the unenviable taskof personal assistant to the fallen star is Chelsea Ross, a Hollywood scream queen awaiting her big break. From the jump they’re a match made in H-E-double hockey sticks, but once the gloves come off, a heated attraction threatens to melt both their resolves.

Deserves more than five stars!

Wow I loved this book so much! Yes, the story is a little predictable: moody athlete falls for sweet, totally not his type girl who knows nothing about the sport. There's a secret that will cause trouble between them but it gives you the fairytale ending I love. There's also a nice secondary love story between Jules (Faith Duffy's assistant) and Bo (Chelsie's twin sister). I did not want this book to end!

Narration: Susan Bennett did an excellent job! Each character has a distinct voice and she adds so much feeling and emotion to the story (especially the hot scenes!!) she deserves more than five stars for her performance as well.

Rachel Gibson is one of my favorite contemporary romance writer. Her stories are funny, interesting, butterflies-in-the-stomach romantic and teary eyes intense. She brings out so many emotions out of me... Can't wait to start listening to her next book Any Man of Mine (although sadly has a different narrator).

I love this trouble!

Rachel Gibson is one of my favorite writers and Susan Bennett has the greatest narration for her characters. I enjoyed this book so much that as soon as it ended I listened to it all over again...that is a first for me. The story is funny, sweet and some good hot romance too. I can't wait until Audible gets more of Ms. Gibson's work on tape!!!

Sexy, romantic and lots of fun!

STORY (contemporary romance) - This is a really cute contemporary romance. Mark is a sexy hockey player who is recuperating from a very serious traffic accident. Chelsie is hired to be his assistant while he recuperates. Mark starts out a grumbly jerk and Chelsie is adorably irritating to him -- "Nothing But Trouble." Like many romance stories, they start out seriously disliking each other till things start warming up. I personally like my romance stories to also have a mystery or thriller plot line to make things more interesting, which is why I've rated this a 4.5 overall instead of a 5, but this story is just so sarcastic and clever that I caught myself smiling or laughing out loud several times. Some might think it's just silly fluff, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

PERFORMANCE - Rachel Gibson's humor and wit is perfectly delivered by Susan Bennett. This author/narrator combo is a great pairing, much like the Molly Harper/Amanda Ronconi team. I plan to hear more books by them!

OVERALL (actual overall rating 4.5) - There's some pretty explicit sex, but not a whole lot of it. The tension builds for a while before they finally actually "do it." There's also a sprinkling of cursing and F-words through the story but, again, not a lot. The story stands alone. Recommended for adult females because of the language and sexual content.

Love the Chinook's Hockey men series!

Read the book then bought the audio version to listen to in the car! Chelsea is a burned out personal assistant to the stars who was trying to make it into the movies as an actress. She's smart, sarcastic and figures she can put up with anyone for three months to earn a $10,000 bonus. Mark Bressler, ex-captain of the Chinooks, was in a horrible accident putting him in the hospital for months and ruining his hockey career. The year they are certain to win the Stanley Cup. Every healthcare worker they have sent to his house has left within hours. He's bitter, in pain, but not helpless (as he keeps reminding everyone) and knows the one thing he loves most is gone so why bother being nice? But Chelsea won't take no for an answer and works her way into his life and his heart. Until he finds out she was offered $10,000 to make it work. With her, he's happier than he's ever been and seeing possibilities he had ruled out, but was she in it for the money or for him? Some of your other favorite characters from past books make appearances as well -Ty Savage & Faith Duffy, John Kowalsky, Luc Martineau and of course Sam LeClaire and Vlad, the impaler. It's a great, funny, quick-moving story about love and sticking it out through the hard times. Come on Rachel -I need my fix! More hockey stories!

A Pleasure!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to a friend that wanted a light yet meaningful story.

What did you like best about this story?

What I liked best about this story was nothing was too heavy or unbelievable. Without hitting you over the head the listener understood that each of the main characters were learning about themselves and improving as individuals as they grew in their relationship.

What about Susan Bennett’s performance did you like?

The narration was excellent. I thought several times when listening to this book how much more enjoyable listening to really good performance was. In fact it made the story that much better.

Steamy, Hot!

Would you try another book from Rachel Gibson and/or Susan Bennett?

This is another entertaining and sexy hockey story by Rachel Gibson. Her audios are always fast, fun, quick, sexy downloads. This is fun chick lit with some pretty hot sex scenes. The narrators voice is a bit annoying. She sounds like a valley girl half the time. it gets a little tiring but other than that, if you like Rachel Gibson's other audios then download this.

Cheer Up, It will Get Better

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

yes, as the sweet don't give up attitude keeps YOUR spirits up

Who was your favorite character and why?

our heroine, fun is a part of life

Which character – as performed by Susan Bennett – was your favorite?

no one in particular, she has good pace and tone to match the story. She could use a bit deeper male, but this did not detract from the story as so many of the poor women who are now reading can ruin a good story. Reviewers said she was the best. Hint Nicole Poole is AKA, Justine O'Keef

If you could rename Nothing but Trouble, what would you call it?

title good,no change

Any additional comments?

If ms Bennett reads as an A.K.A, It would be great to know it. She did a fab job on this one and even better on True Love and other Disasters. If only one to buy, buy True love first. This is good, but if I had to pick this is 2nd.

Chinooks Series is Hot, Fast & Fun

If you could sum up Nothing but Trouble in three words, what would they be?

Sweet, Sexy, HEA

Who was your favorite character and why?

I usually love the heros, but Chelsea is so true to her feelings. Rachel Gibson writes her emotions in a way that is raw and almost painful. Susan Elizabeth Phillips also has characters like this. The heroines are strong but still feminine

What does Susan Bennett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I LOVE listening to books. Ms. Bennett does an excellent job of defining the characters through voice and her consistency is amazing.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES! But I also didn't want it to end

Any additional comments?

If you like romance you will love this. There is enough romance but it's never too much!

Very entertaining!

A quirky but emotionally believable heroine, a strong but vulnerable hero, a mixture of unexpected humor and sensitive feelings, all delivered by a great narration! This is not the first Rachel Gibson novel I've listened to, and it's definitely not my last.

Love Battles with a Puck

I really liked this story, and I don't know anything about hockey. Neither does the heroine, but her sheer determination to keep her job is funny, as is the insight into celebrity assistant work and the inner realm of the players of pro hockey.

Good one, you will like it!
