Publisher's summary

Meet the residents of Gammage, New York, a town on the verge of declaring bankruptcy, when inspiration strikes. Why not go native, and open a casino? With Not Enough Indians, actor, writer, producer, and former Saturday Night Live cast member Harry Shearer joins the ranks of such comedian/authors as Steve Martin and Michael Palin with a brilliantly funny, whip-smart satire of greed, collusion, distrust, and betrayal in the halls of Washington and the casinos of Native America.

Fun listen, great characters

If you could sum up Not Enough Indians in three words, what would they be?

Clever, witty, entertaining

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I think it'd make a fun radio play. I kept imaging the cast from A Mighty Wind filling in the orher voices.

Which character – as performed by Harry Shearer – was your favorite?

Dr. Roger Gardner

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Join the tribe.

Any additional comments?

Great fun from the voice of The Simpsons.

A cute and edgy book

The book was a good listen. The characters held my interest. The plot was not tedious as might have happened. The idea that a town would resort to these measures to survive is hilarious. It made me smile and even occasionally laugh out loud...something I do not normally do. I liked the book and thought it was good but not great. I recommend it to others for satisfying reading.

Very smart and funny

Great satire as I'd expect from Harry Shearer. Sure it gets a little silly at times, but always returns to intelligent fun.

Characters are all quirky individuals who we can laugh at and feel fondness for while knowing they are all heading for failure - if not disaster.

I recommend Not Enough Indians for listening to when you want light (but not childish) humor.

(Plus, it's relatively clean: very limited harsh language, nothing graphically described, just a little clean diaper humor).
